  1. got one of those cliffs fly boxes for 90$ the other day, the ammount of large flies you can fit in them is great, ive got everything from snapper/kingfish flies right down to bream and gar fish flies in there, if you are like me and have 7 or 8 flyt boxes that you take everywhere then this is th 1 box you need. lol for now soon ill prob need 2 lol

  3. haha very true, you should have seen the blury 8 shots i took before that one lol, yeah its tricky takes a few goes at least. normaly i focus and get the trigger half presed in the quickly move my supporting hand and snap quick before they go for another swim lol
  4. went out again today to enjoy the high flowing water we got and managed aroud 12 landed and lost and missed several too. been waiting to get a few rainbows on camera for ages cause they have awesome colors on the little ones. here is a few bows from today. with the well blooded new reel lol.

Whit all the rain all the rivers were pumping through double if not triple the normal volumes and thought it would be good to try some heavy indicator nymphing, worked great, I got about 7 and my mate got 6 as well, we also lost a few too, and we had only fished a small section of water to. So hi flow doesn’t mean no go, this is the photo of my biggest today with the shiny new Ross evolution. My mate got a solid est 2 ¾ lb brown.   8. the fly i use for the carp mate is a wooly worm which is like a wooly bugger/red tag. cheniel wrapped up the body with a red hivis tail and a black hackle wrapped up and tied off. also there is another if you have a look one of the shots has one of the flys in the cork of a rod which is a variant of a south african 'carp bugger' they work well.brett, yeah bro been saving them up for a while but have been doing nothing with them thought why not get a channel going and get them out there. should be doing a dvd in summer for carp i recon. get it produced and see how it goes ill sign you a copy l

  13. havent caught any of the reef species but gar mullet mullies bream kingi's sambos mackerel and snook are a good mainstayyou can catch drummer, there were a few articles in fly life about bread burley and bread flies. parrot fish i get on lure all the time so id think they will take a clouser.

  16. cheers guys, yea loved it over there now i gotta wait a year or so to go back, might get as chance to do fiji though later in the year, and this time ill take something heavier than just my fly rod.yea brett just used my 4000 heartland with 20lb saltiga braid on a sol 8foot 10-17lb rod. worked alright, bit sporting, got some on my dads 10kg overhead outfits too. so yea either or, only got rats on the fly this time though. oh al also me and my brother caught the same salmon at the same time both on fly, so it was a bit of a tug of war lol! :woohoo:

Hey all, just got back from my New Zealand trip and thought id share a few pic’s.I had been gearing up for the trip for some time, with a week planned down at Rotorua (near taupo) on the north island for some trout fishing for large trout and high numbers of them then I had 3 weekends worth of fishing up at Auckland with the old man on his boat with large salmon (kahawai) and kings on the agenda.So after an interesting time in Auckland customs inspecting my gear and lucky I separated all my spools and lines from my reels that I carried in my hand luggage cause the customs guy mentioned

  20. hey all, just got back from a NY holiday for 5 dayes at Avoca beach, central coast sydney. it was nice az, wicked spot to fish with so much deep ocean off the rocks and lagoons around to fish, i had a ball fishing everyday, would get up early go fish avoca rocks for bonitos then go home for lunch, the go coffe with the wife then go back fishing at 5-9 then get on the juice with freinds, was a great time.but the fishing was crazy, these rocks were so busy but it was good the local spin fishers have designated a spin fish ledge and if a float comes past the will hook it and throw it up on the ro

  23. at times i had 3 or 4 of them porposing behind the popper. they were nuts and the water was cold too not hot like they say is good for it. i just bloop for half the retrieve then a small pause (this is when i got most of them ) then continue bloobing
  24. hey just a quick one, went away this weekend and did a bit of touring sa, was good got out and caught heaps of legal snapper, heaps of 2-3lb salmon on fly dozens of good 70+cm snook on fly. and also got a heaps of tommies. also managed to get some whiting on poppers too, thewy are so agressive when they hit its crazy,anyway i managed to drop about 4 good flatties, this one however hooked up good on a lead eye clouser. casted out landed in 4foot of water and i started to strip it in straight away and felt some weight, thinking weed already i stripped hard, then he went off. put up a great fight
  25. ive caught them on scented sp before, but they are very spooky. and yea you have to spot them. just do linear park and look for ripples that arnt from birds and should be able to find them
