  1. Ok I've seen another reel. More money with a spare spool
  2. Thanks out and about I've found another store 10 bucks cheaper The store with three letters I can walk around the corner to . Seems they are more exspensive than the others except for the one in the home maker centre they aren't cheap
  3. Ok I've just been shopping to a store with three letters I'll keep using the Symetre 750 but my goodness I like the look of the Symetre 1000 Can see the difference a few years makes
  4. That's a good size Brankim Next length I'll look at next trip the 7ft
  5. Aquatic research 1 thanks I started my fishing catching carp in the torrens . Fishing wasn't a big thing in my family taught myself . I'm 53 now when I was 16 or 17 or 18 memory issues . I know at 16 year 12 walk across the foot bridge to Underdale high school could see some very very long carp . Not certain they are that big anymore And by my mums house I'd be bothered lol Cheers When I can fish again I'll keep it in mind
  6. Actually I had a chat with someone over the line spooling issues . Went into the tackle shop after I stripped the line got a new 6lb braid and a 4ib spin fluorocarbon . Spin Fluorocarbon can work with plastics not easy but I've landed fish . I do have memory issues but I do recall telling the tackle shop guy something to do with too much spooled or not enough . Since then no spool issues with the 750 My goal a larger fish landed on a 750 or 1000 or a 500 if I can get one . And from my bad memory I've watched ET on fox saying use a 1000 reel go light was an old show Thanks
  7. I'm convinced on the smaller reels when I can get back to fishing Or it's my goal a bigger fish on a smaller reel with 6 lb braid or 4lb spin fluorocarbon As much as id like the rod not for the price convinced on a 7foot 6 ft 9 I use as well prefer the longer

  14. If you notice my avatar on the side thats one of my 40 cm mullieway caught on a diawa aird 1500. LArgest ive landed on a 100 or 750 is a 38cm bream still to land that 40cm Honestly using the 2500 feels to big like using a game reel to land bream just my thoughts And line size for bream 6lb braid 6lb leader any heavier they get spooked Spin flourocarbon i use 4lb When im healthy that is
  15. Thanks projoe The amazing thing i watched an ET episode on the weekend he was fishing for Bass . He was sprouting use a light rod reel and line size of reel 1000 makes you think . I was interested in that Rod but not for 600 or 700 bucks wages i should say leave wages stopped 3 or 4 weeks ago but im still employed
  16. I've posted this on another forum a couple of things that have confused me . As you may know I had a traumatic brain injury in October . I'm getting there slowly . As an outing I was taken to a big Adelaide tackle shop I've shopped there for years . I asked about a rod I saw on the Diawa fishing show next level on fox . Don't ask me which one except guides were the same materials as the rod . They knew the one took out another rod the one I showed interest in which wasn't there they said 700 bucks the one they stocked 600 bucks . Not sure if their prices are over the top or what . Then they
  17. all those years ago when i was fly fishing for bream I thought id try on Carp . Since my parents live still next to the torrens off i went . Seeing ive caught them on bread as a boy i thought maybe . I bought bread flies off a site . Off i trotted to the torrens in the western suburbs found a spot the ducks ddint come chucked in bread . Carp came not huge but fat things couldnt get them to hit a fly But they were there .

  23. And a big thank you to HBT who tried to take the first treeble out my finger . The one hanging out my leg so many people walked past not one offered a hand let alone a word of advice no wonder i went back to plastics . and the number of times i hit the backpack on my back when i used to fly fish for bream lol Forgot the time i snapped my leader swapped spools forgot to tighten the drag lost spool in the drink lol
  24. many years ago walking along the outer harbor break water tripped fell on my kness a few weeks later same thing down victor way . think i put that old school mate off of fishing . recently 3 times trebles into me twice in my fingers and once in my leg . Tiny bream hanging off my leg while i try and take hooks out . Driving to the QEH twice with trebles hanging off my fingers . And this year i bought boots to wear fishing got tired off old work shoes with no soles left and slipping in mud
