  1. I'm not a boat fisho, but have a couple of land based spots that I feed regularly. They seem to produce for me all the time.Mainly pillies and "el cheapo" cat food.
  2. Hook sizes are a personal choice.I like size 8 Mustad "Aberdeen" for whiting;they are a long shanked, fine gauge, high carbon (better rust resistance) and chemically sharpened hook......I was always taught by my Grandad and Uncle that "a small hook can catch big fish, and a big hook won't catch small fish".Worked for me for 40 years
  3. Just the way I was shown when younger to present baits in this way......habit now.As long as it looks natural I suppose,how-ever it's pinned, rather than a mangled, bunched up mess!Tight lines, look forward to reading a report
  4. I've used circles for Bronzies on Lower Yorkes for the last 10 years or so off the sand.Only looking for the little fella's around 3 or 4 footers, nice for a feed.......not chased big fella's,so I don't know.Hook - up rates seem to be good, and never in the gut.I think mine are 8/0,and they hold a good sized tommie or legal sized mullet well.Rigging wise,a wire trace around 40lb about 1m long to a single hook, and a good swivel to the main line, which I run 30lb.Thread the hook through the mouth and then out the gills........then,pierce the flesh between the pectoral fins on his chest, and then pus

  10. Hi all,I'm looking at purchasing a 1000 size spin reel for throwing small hard bodies, over Yorke Peninsula sand flats. It will be mounted on a 7 foot T-Curve 1-3kg rod,and intending to spool with 3 or 4lb braid.Budget is up to $500.Any thoughts appreciated.Cheers.
