Hi mate i launch at sullies and also occasionally seacliff by myself ,havent had a problem in fact if i have been in a bit of bother people have only been to quick to help me ,never thought about people ripping stuff of the baot while i parked the car ,as protac said do all the stuff in the rigging area and after of the trailer pull to the end of the pontoon ,how many times have you seen people launch tie of at the front and stuff around getting biminis up rods in place all while others have to wait ,if unsure mate go to the ramp and watch others that is what i did ,early in the morning most r

  4. I have just set my self up with a 700c alvey and a 12 foot alvey rod to match ,may not be everyones choice but i figure they make the reels so why not get one of there rods ,i also have a couple of 500c reels on a 9 foot rod that i use for smaller stuff of the beach ,i cant be bothered with trying to cast a overhead ,tried to many birdsnests ,just practice i suppose but as pauly said more parts to bugger up alveys are tough as and easy to look after ,even got one in my boat .
  5. When i ,made mine i used a small discarded plant pot but i used a freezer bag before i put the mix in for ease of removal once frozen.
  6. Sounds like a great idea ,if it works well you could start a whole new industry .
  7. Just to continue this thread ,i have a saratoga boat rod now although i cannot contest to briging any massive reds in with it, it has served me well some small flattys and reds and one flying carpet about 4 feet or more across pulled from the depths .I have had this rod for around 6 years now and it realy doesnt show any signs of cracking up ,i use it for troling and a static big rod ,dont know about the reels though if your going to use ebay look at the sellers feedback and comments from buyers even shoot them a message and ask them i do sometimes if i am not sure about something normally the

    THE FUNK!

Hi jack funny as mate ,when i bagged out on suid last year after cleaning them i put the remains in 2 plastic bags tied with a crispys never let the smell get out knot ,didnt work the bin was sittin under the carport for a week slowely getting stronger every time you opened the lid to put some normal rubbish in it ,ohhhhhhhh couldnt wait for the rubbish truck ,can you imagine crushing a pillie into a cars airvent what a fitting payback for someone you dont like
  9. Yea i think i just got a dodgy batch as the replacement snapped in the same place ,i didnt worry about getting a third one .
  10. there is a bloke operating out of tassie who trades on ebay pretty sure he stands by his gear ,i have used ebay for a lot of stuff in fact i am selling the wasp bags on there now ,i have had some horrors but more good ,reels i would be wary of though and rods i had two snap on me but on the other hand i have a fantastic solid glass rod from there ,i think C.F.R. has some rods from there send him a pm see what he says .
  11. Hi all i use a couple of milk bottle frozen ,i used to have those techni ice sheets but they have dissapeared but i can remember they were good value ,i just have a crappy plastic eski which i drilled some holes in and filed with that spray foam for extra insulation ,dont know if it helps but the ice blocks last more than a day in the sun inside the crapola esky ,one day ill get myself one of those techni ice eskis they seem pretty good .
  12. I think a lot of the online stores the postage on items kills them, unless you are buying a lot of gear ,for example a sugar pen by bassday is cheaper than here but the postage is 7.00 dont know how they work that out for something so light but anyway ,sugarpen here from f wholsaler 23,50 cheaper than online .
  13. Hi mate of you check out the alvey thread in bait and tackle there has been some discussion on these
  14. I am in favor of the petition for better security at the ramp at night ,i know what your saying mass fish but and i feel the same but if we do that then we are lowering ourselves to there bogan mentality and we dont want that ,these attacks are sporadic and random but the people who they are inflicted on suffer for a long time ,look the penalties for criminals in this country are a joke ,we catch these crims selling drugs to our children we give them a couple of years in the hole, try that in thailand youll get 25 to life if not the death penalty ,a bit of track but just making a point tougher
  15. That is a damb good idea ,i dont know why these losers do this may well be school kids or just bogans who need some more drug money for xmas.Im unemployed have been for 8 months now and i wouldnt even consider doing anything like that for a few extra bucks ,if i had enough fuel money i might even go sit down there for a while with the phone on speed dial to the cops f :c turdburglers
