bjorn2fish 4,614
Howdy, I've had my Baitrunner for about a year and a bit I think now with it only really getting a workout for the past months or so and have found that when clicked into baitrunner mode there is now no ratchet clicking sound coming from the reel, still works fine just no clicking.Thought I'd see if anyone might know why this might be happening, I try to look after it as best I can, cleaning after every use, I try not to dunk in salt water or get sand all over it.Not sure if I should go the service by a "Shimano approved service centre" or to try a warranty claim or just live with it.Any ideas or suggestionsCheers
Ranger 48
I am so anal I could not live with a bzzzzzz'r that doesn't go bzzzzzz. I would be forced to take it in for a service!I think it's gonna be a pretty simple fix, but it doesn't hurt to get the entire reel a good servicing at the same time.....love my baitrunners! Ranger 48
I just examined one of my baitrunners (without dismantling it), and I think the bzzzz'r is just a little metal tag which has probably just fallen out of it's housing.I wonder if the thing actually has a name?
bjorn2fish 4,614
I believe that's called a "Metal Bzzzz Tag" I'll have a look later see what I can find, I did take the spool off and it all looked ok. The reel still has it's Bzzzz when using the normal front drag.

bjorn2fish 4,614
Might not be so difficult after all. Just tossing up between opening it up and voiding my warranty
jimbojames 285
Should be under the drag screw on top or under the spool . should not have to open up thus not avoiding warranty . Unless taking the spool of also voids your warranty and i wouldn't think so , you have to be able to put line on ?

adamibinfishin 224
should be able to get it fixed mate if purchased locally,or send it away possibly to get repaired to shimano direct.
smokeykebab 175
i hate when clickers break on my reels. has happened twice once on a jarvis walker and on a shimano. didn't bother fixing either since there only cheapo reels but fighting a fish in silence is 1 sucky thing of fishing. the bzzzzz sound makes it all the better.
