Dingo51 1
Hey everyone I am new to the forum. I'm in need of a new rod, which specifically suits whiting. In thinking the Shimano - Dynamix KG Killa. Would love to hear reviews and any suggestions. Cheers everyone
Hugo 120
Hey Dingo51, welcome to S&H. KG Killa is a great whiting rod, good long butt for sticking the rod under your arm. Well suited to a 2500 size real. I also have a Bushy Bait Legend "go to" rod, also by Shimano. Couple of inches longer, with a shorter butt. I use the Go to with circle hooks and leave it in a rod holder and fish the KG Killa in hand with long shank bait holder hooks. Both rods have more than enough power for whiting, and have also landed ruggers up to a couple of kilos. 4THALOVE

Moggy23 625
I also have a Bushy Bait Legend for my spin & finally settled for a Okuma Signature 2-4 kg with a Shimano Calcutta 200XT for a baitcaster :f 4THALOVE
Hugo 120
The green Gomoku rod, the Keiryo, would also make a very good whiting rod. I have the red one which is the next size up. The green model would be slight over kill for the average KGW, but would deal with any bigger by catch that might jump on, whilst still being light enough for the job. Parabolic action but enough stiffness to set hooks and matches smaller 2500 sized reals nicely. Another $60 over the Bushy and KG Killa, but still affordable and would suit a wider range of situations and species. Definitely worth a look. 4THALOVE

rooboy123 9
I've got a Samaki drifter for my spin rod. Sounds like its similar in action to some of the others mentioned here. It's rated 3-6kg with a nice tip for bait fishing, and can handle bigger fish quite well. I find I don't use it all that much as I prefer overhead gear for whiting out in the boat. Cheers 4THALOVE

Dingo51 1
Thank you everyone for your help! I've decided to get the bushy bait legend. I probably swayed to make this decision as it was a 2 piece and the KG killa was a 1 piece and transporting this rod may be a bit of a hassle. I'm itching to try it out!!
