FROSTONE1 66
I was out at wallaroo on the weekend crabbing and pulled this up in the net and haven't seen a crab like this before looks like a spider but the claws were a bit bigger than what I remember a spider crabs being. Unfortunately I have seen too many people treat these critters with contempt and destroy them for being in their view worthless. They are not worth eating true but serve a very worthwhile purpose by keeping the sea floor clean from rotting material.
Rybak 622
Seems like a spider crab to me as well. Have a look at my photos in the post headed "Spider Crabs". The claws are generally quite big. Someone was a bit unhappy about your simple question FROSTONE1!!

Fishie 98
Those spider crabs with the big claws are good eating... there's plenty of meat in the big claws and you'll find it a lot richer than bluey's. David_C
