carps 1
k shoulda thought this one through but didnt i have a 200ltr bait freezer and in the bottom it has a shelf the compressor is under, now between this shelf and the edge of the freezer is the exact size of a 10 kilo bag of pillies if you take them out the box (still in the clear bag) but and this is a big but if you wedge them in there when half frozen once fully frozen THEY DO NOT COME BACK OUT and become at 1 with the freezer.now the problem is this what do i do with the rest of the bait while i defrost the freezer to get the bag of pillies out or do i just say bye bye to them and pretend they dont exist untill the end of shark season when they will be the only thing left :silly:
adamibinfishin 224
howdy carps, you could ice up your big eskys at home and put your bait in that while you defrost your freezer,in this weather you will be fine mate, cheers

adamibinfishin 224
i have had this happen to me before aswell, pull the good bait out and open the bung on the freezer, wheel it out on the lawn and hit it with some water and leave the lid up,won't take long, usually speeds things up. voogoofish 1
My freezer trip out to the shed is like digging into memory lane lol...
spog777 1
Hell i'd make out its not there until temps hit 35C or over for a quick thaw lol. Maybe a bucket of hat water could speed things up-if theres no chance of killing the freezer that is
statesquider 0
I've had a similar problem with my freezer before. I just emptied it and put some warm water around the sides to get the freezer up to temp so it wont freeze anything then poured the kettle over the frozen stuck item and after a jug or two they are free! Then while its empty you may as well give it a quick clean then turn it back on and load it back up

coonta kinta 1
Esky's and insulated boxes.ice over the top to keep everything in A1 condition. Cold shed floor helps plenty also.Doesnt take long for things to loosen up if the door is left open.Actually, this thread is a bit of a reminder as I need to do my freezers before things heat up too much and it becomes hard to keep things in good condition
statesquider 0
If you put hot water in it will take you less than 30 mins I did my (neglected haha) frosted up 150L in under 10mins and when i started it was full. Stuff wont have time to defrost! If you get the cold out the freezer its so quick its not funny
thefunkychicken 0
And if you use anything to scrape the frost off the inside of the freezer, use a PLASTIC spatula - not the metal one or the BBQ scraper. They have a habit of making a big mess of your freezer's insides. Wayno77 0
Take everything out, hook up the hose to the hot water tap in the laundry and hose it down. Should loosen it up in no time. Then wipe with a solution of vanilla essence and water to give it a good smell. Repack
