  1. Hey Jimbo I wouldn't mind seeing some pics if you don't mind uploading them. I've been thinking about setting up something like this recently. I've seen a few simple setups like a bucket with an aerator hung over the top and taped to the outside to an esky with tubes feeding through the sides for water inlet and outlet.Be interesting to see your setup.

  2. So how did everyone go?Me...Not having any experience with anything other than Bream decided ahhh bugger it let's just go down to the Port Noarlunga Jetty with my Mrs and old man and see what we catch, started at about 8am. Stayed there freezing and almost getting blown away (which is fine for fishing but not when your mrs has arthritis :( ) decided to go home after no bites for 2 hours.Disappointed with this we decided to go for a fish down good ol' Perry's Bend at about 8pm. My dad caught about 4 Bream just under legal 1 good size, I caught 5 under legal 1 just at 28cm. Oh yeah dad beat my PB by catching a 36cm Bream :P now there's competition. No Pirtek happiness just all round fishing fun with the family.

  3. Very cool vid. Well done to you both :clap:Might have to look into some kind of fishing camera. My phone is a little too awkward while juggling the rod :P and I freak out every time I take a pic thinking I'll drop it in the drink.Good luck with that 1m Mully, I think we'll all have a party when that comes along, doesn't seem like it'll be too far away :woohoo:

  4. I'm looking into setting up my own online fishing tackle shop. Let me tell you if you don't have a retail shop front good luck! So far all of the well known brands won't deal with me, simply because I don't have a shop front. I'm sure there are a few exceptions (proving themselves a worthy seller) but I would say that 99% of Australian online fishing stores are also retail, so you're not hurting the local guys much at all in that case. Overseas shops, yeah they have some influence as the Aussie suppliers definitely over inflate their prices. This being said, when I finally setup my online fishing tackle shop I will still go into the local shops myself. I'm not going to be able to source everything and the local knowledge and personal touch can't be beaten. While on this topic... What kind of gear do you and would you buy online? gotta get some research in here somewhere. :P Obviously reels can be an online purchase and bait local :silly: Cheers

  5. Not sure how iPhone and Android apps work but I know alot of Windows Phone 7 apps use Online maps, bing and google maps etc which are loaded dynamically not stored as far as I know. So every time you use them they would use data. Also depends how your phone gets it's GPS data. Different phones/apps get their data using different systems... Can be GPS or AGPS (Assisted GPS using data from phone networks). My dad's iPhone was cranking through his data with his AGPS app until he got a different app using standard GPS.As long as you know how your app gets its data you'll be right.

  6. Hey when ya have some made up post some pics. I've been looking at getting one of those kits from those guys, would be good to see how they turn out.About to mould some snapper sinkers over the weekend, just grabbed the mould today. Love making my own fishing gear, great hobby and a lot of satisfaction when you use your own gear. So far I've been moulding ball and bean sinkers also keen to try my jig head mould.Good luck with the softies, I'll keep an eye out for some pics.b2f
