  1. If you don't have your prescription glasses polarized - these clip ons do the job, for under $2 posted, per pair ... polarized on ebay - may take 3 weeks delivery - I have green & yellow, have just bought brown & smoke
  2. a cheaper 1 piece rod just might have a nicer action than a dearer 2 or more piece save all smaller scales from gar, tommies, etc., mix in your berley - shimmer as they disperse adds sight attractant, as well as scent
  3. found these on fleabay ... YOYO for all the DDay preppers
  4. Here's one sold recently, Hoopsy can't recall what it went for tho' ...
  5. ... just a sucker for quirky collectables ... cheap ones
  6. A mate's reel he wants to sell, I have it to take pics & put up on Gumtree for him Could be interested myself, if the broken foot can be welded & ground/filed back to shape ? Also the handle broke at some stage, & is now shorter than original I've noticed these reels have an impressive crosshatch line lay
  7. That's the way! Was the original '80s Shimano 1500 baitrunner, that got me in - nailed more bream on that reel, than any other ... just bait & wait
  8. Yeah, the Thunnus would be king of all baitrunners, I guess Are you intending to do a lot of live baiting with it ?
  9. I'm thinking of doing near the opposite, lol Thinking of selling my aged Shimano 3500 & 4500 Baitrunners - as I don't think they're up to running braid, with their bail rollers I have the Chinese Penn Slammer 560L Live liner, tho' only used once I like it, & want to get the 760L also Also keen to get a USA Penn 4200 L&R handed (the smallest)
  10. Those boilie stoppers ...
  11. Yeah, they $pend big on carp tackle & bait, it seems
  12. J hook? Is that just a conventional ol' straight shank, straight eye - so looks like a 'J'? How does one attach a 'boilie'? Yep, that's a J hook Boilies are buoyant, long tag is left on the hook trace They are drilled I think & attached to the tag end with a sequin or something to hold it there Trace is weighed down with tungsten putty or similar so boilie is just above the bottom with hook directly under it ... think that's how it goes
  13. I stopped using baitholder hooks years ago, after losing a couple of possibly PB bream on Mustad #1s, I tested some out of the box & could break them by hand without a lot of effort & have never used baitholders since Just broke these two #1 ebay equivalent by hand & gotta' admit, it was tough to do Difference being these are bronze, older ones were bright nickel Maybe the nickel plating made those older hooks brittle
  14. Z-man soft surface poppers 'Pop Shadz' Only recently seen these here, think they've been out in USA since August 5", only 3 to a pack http://www.z-man.com.au/lures.php?id=228
  15. Ended up using that thread & 4 coats nail polish, superglued the guide feet feels solid, it'll do for mullet/tommies etc. have a Shimano 2000 rear drag with 4LB mono for it Had a look at those Ticas, Aussie design by Juro ... http://www.jurofishing.com/index.php/products/tica/tica-rods/tica-nibble-tip-extreme-detail
  16. 2.7m/9' nibble tip, bought cheap on ebay long ago, never got a centrepin Alvey type reel to suit so pinched two larger guides off a Daiwa with broken tip & swapped lower two over making it a spinning rod, I think'll work ok? Don't have proper rod thread, but have some ultra strong thread for stitching tarp's will do Neither have a rod lathe, so I'll just use a large cardboard box with Vs cut out each end Only need to buy a small jar of epoxy ... or I could be real tight & use Mrs. nail polish
