  1. Great clip but WAY too fast! Didn't get a chance to focus on the individual fish long enough
  2. I've learnt a heap from them, a lot of articles you don't find anywhere else.
  3. I thought i'd throw this up here as more of you guys will see it but this link is to one of four short videos explaining tournament fishing as a non-boater. If you click the link to youtube you'll find the others (Labelled 1-4 I believe). It explains everything quite well if you are at all interested in fishing competitively in the future. someone finds these clips useful :)Cheers
  4. Gday lads I've hunted far and wide over the net to hunt these down but i can only find the 2010, 2011 and 2012 ABT Tournament Guides in pdf form online.Does anyone know if there are any more?Bloody great read if you've not been fortunate enough to read one yet. Do yourself a favour and hunt them down
  5. best berley i've used to date is crushed razorfish
  6. mate that is a bloody nice whiting!how'd she taste?
  7. Fantastic invention that i never use enough!!! Bloody handy thing to have in the tackle box!
  8. Biggest i've heard of is 2kg as someone said but i've never seen a photo. Biggest i've caught would be a touch over 50cm. Biggst one i've seen in a photo would be the one that eeles put up, think it was in SA angler a while back.4.8gk would be stupidly big! If it ever existed i would have loved to see a photo
  9. Hey Cal, the xraps are bloody amazing! I never cast too far but with a few quick rips you can get it under maybe a bit over a foot. They have a really nice wiggle and are a top lure for trout. I'm always a bit hesitant to use them as they aren't cheap and I fish some very snaggy territory. Haha one of them I had to bush bash and climb a tree out over the water to retrieve Every freshwater fisherman should have at least one though! Those frogs look the goods, I wonder what the action is like as you work them....
  10. Gday lads,It has been a while since I last saw a thread with redfin/trout lures and I was wondering what all you lads are throwing into snags these days ;)I've recently overhauled my collection I drag around with me and have condensed it down to the proven lures but still leaving myself a decent variety. It all now fits into one very compact box that isn't too overloaded  Feel free to contribute lads
  11. I can't go past my 2-4kg tcurve and 2500 sustain with 8lb sunline pe. A combo that you can cast ALL day and nice and light Also to fish with the confidence that you know you can land ridiculous fish on it.Nothing better than wading along the shore flicking hb's and sp's
  12. Haha imagine that sitting in the livewell when you came back in. You'd lose the bloody thing!
  13. Cheers lads. This is the gist i've got through searching on google so far :)Looking like the 1000 biomaster will be the go. Anyone know what they are worth? Average seems to be around $350 I think
  14. Thinking about a biomaster 1000 fbI can't seem to reel slow enough with my ci4 2500
  15. Title says it all lads. What do you prefer?Tossing up between 5.0:1 and 6.0:1 at the moment so I'd like the hear from you breamers out there for opinions!
  16. http://www.fishingworld.com.au/news/rock-fisherman-s-body-foundI just thought i'd draw attention to the issue of safety on the rocks. From what I can tell in this article the man was wearing a pfd but was fishing alone.Never fish alone on the rocks lads! No fish is worth your life
  17. Cool to know. Cheers for that! I'll look into it
  18. I'm not actually sure if the specs are correct on the shimano site.Do they make a 6'6" 2-4kg?The specs say the 702xl is a 2-5kg but I'm holding it at the moment and its only 2-4kg....I'd prefer a 2-4kg but I have limited options and i don't believe anything i read on their site I was looking at another of their rods a while back and the specs said it was a two piece and it was only one (even printed in their catalogue incorectly)Haven't held the 1-3kg so i'm not sure if it is too whippyI should add there reason i'm limited is I only buy 2 piece rods. Easier to travel around with I love my ot
  19. Or should I try the t-curve 662 (2-5kg) instead?
  20. Has anyone used this rod before?I'm going to have a look in the shop in the next week or two as I'm after a lighter bream for hb's.It's a 2 piece 1-3kg rod and 6'6"Thinking of putting my ci4 2500 (5lb) on it or happy to buy a 1000 reel to match. I figure the 2500 ci4 would be fine as it would weigh the same as a non-ci4 1000 size reel. I'll suss in the shop regardless and see how it feels :)So yeah, anyone used the rod?
  21. He was trolling so i'd say kayak or a boat...
  22. Many of you lads do it?I've given it a bit of thought recently and ave now started to throw a few around. Only a few st's so far but i love being able to throw a plastic into risky territory and knowing i wont get snagged :)Looking forward to seeing how they go on the reddies! A lot of dodgy territory when fishing for them
  23. oh really? haha i thought there were a few :)whoops
