  1. I love my magazines and regularly go back to them to refer to articles on areas/species/techniques etc to re-read the relevant articles and get the info i require. For me I use them as a permanent resource like my fishing books :)An article is always worth reading if I can take away even one tip and use that knowledge next time i fish.

  2. Hey WeavsNo harm intended by my comments :)In my opinion it is the magazines as a whole that seem to be lacking, not the individual articles. I've noticed it over the last few issues of both it seems like they are stretching for a healthy variety of articles. I'll have a look again and work out what it is and let you know :)Are you interested in article suggestions for you to write? I can have a flick through all my wildcoasts and see what I'd like to read if you want.I have a few on the go at the moment in various stages of progress :)

  3. I've noticed recently it seems as if they are struggling for fresh articles. Maybe new blood could offer a different spin on topics. They're still keeping me hanging on, regardless i think i'd still buy it :) a nice change from reading stuff on the internet

  4. Give it a look but you shouldn't have any dramas with scraping on the ramp. I've always found it quite short and the trailer always goes beyond the ramp and into the water/sand when launching/retrieving the boat. The water is very shallow there but i heled a bloke launch his 5.5m last time i was there and he just had to go a bit deeper but easy to do :)You'll love the place fella :) Bloody awesome and i keep going back!

  5. i can't quite see the difference between the catalina and saltiga range. I'd say very overpriced...I have a dogfight and a 4500 catalina and they both feel identical. Both look and feel bulletproof :) If i were to go back i would have bought the catalina 6500 instead of the dogfight and saved myself a heap of money in the process (to be spent on more gear haha)

  6. They are a brute of a reel :) I've got the 4500 but i'm sticking that on a demon blood when i get the coin together. Not sure on the weight but it may be a bit heavy but I would have thought it would still make a great reelUnless you're waiting for the new one it is only $400 at the moment :)

  7. yeah i interchange the 2500 and 3000 spools on my ci4. I think the spare 3000 spool cost $55 but now the reel is a lot handier!8lb sunline braid on the 250015lb sunline braid on the 3000The drag knobs are different but to solve the problem i remove the rubber seal unde the drag knob when i use the 3000 spool. So not as waterproof but it still seals quite well for the time being!

  8. make sure you find or download the schematics for your reel and as savagelip said strip it down, clean and re-oil/re-grease. chuck it in fresh water for now to rinse the salt off. As long as it is only full of water you'll be fine fella :)When you do strip the reel lay the parts down in order on an old towel an you wont lose bitsGood luck fella

  9. Same experience with myself. If the line is slack and/or the hook is too small i find circles will hook themselves in deep. Can be harder to keep an eye on sometimes..Still... WAY less gut hooks and a lot easier to release fish safely than regular hooks
