  1. Gee, and what have you done except whine and criticize? We have done far more submissions and media releases than the peak body. With a weekly reach of 70,000, it's not a bad result for those working as volunteers. Yes, the website has been hacked, on purpose by the way and this is being addressed, but we have many portals for discussion. Right now, there is no doubt that if SAFA and RecFish Central had not pushed issues hard, nothing would be on the table towards the election. We didn't see anybody else present to the Natural Resources committee ? Slanging off at those working their guts out to make a difference ? Good on you !

He is referring to the South Australian Fishing Alliance. If you look on this forum you will see some of our work posted. Out of respect to this website, we will not enter into political debate here. However you are welcome to message on this sites message stream, or email me if you would like. RJ You and your companions are the reason we are not active on this forum. We are a ground up organisation, it's members ( SA Fishos) dictate the direction. It is their group ! Those that have decided, they have had enough of the lies, back door deals and the slide down hill of our rights have chosen, to yell it from the hilltops. People can chose to be happy with the current situation or fight for change. We are heading for an election, and I assure you.all our cards are in place. SA Anglers want independence, they want to make decisions for their own future ! Coming to us and pushing the same old barrows that have not worked and never will, will get a reaction, not just from us. We have the biggest reach of any representative group now, and growing daily. Behind the scenes, we have been told that our work has greatly influenced some decisions, for the better. Now if you followed and kept up, you would have noticed the issues around the Rec management plan, and the back door deals the Commercials have done , at our expense to feather their nest. In fact we had them taunt us with it. The abuse of our rights under the fisheries ACT, is disgusting and we will continue to highlite it. You may not agree with the growing voice of SA Anglers, that's your choice. And people have a right to chose their Reps. The video at the start of the thread and their others, explain very well the position we are all in. I enclose our weekly FB reach. CHANGE NOTHING - NOTHING CHANGES
  4. so you want a rec fishing license?

The division in the Rec community, is the reason independent groups have jumped up. Increased conflict with commercials, PIRSA and the Government, that's excellent news. They will be dragged into the light !
  5. so you want a rec fishing license?

Yes RJ, I was going to make the same statement.
  6. so you want a rec fishing license?

Our own Rec fishers have spoken, but been ignored time and time again !
  7. so you want a rec fishing license?

Unfortunately the pathetic response from rec fishers to the recent government attempt to ask what we wanted pretty much summed up the reason for what happens. Out of about 280K rec fishers, 800 or so turned up at the community consultations and about 1500 bothered to fill in the questionaires. Trust funds do not ensure protection of monies from abuse, many a lawyer has diddled their trust fund & I have had first hand experience of it when my mother passed.Only 6% of the Vic RFL goes directly to Fishng related benefits. Here the RFL money would be handled and distributed by DEWNR. I would prefer to take the punt on a Rec Fishing council, where we got to vote in our representatives, not the current situation !Any proof of this? The DEPI have annual statements on their website. Who is managing our grant money ? DEWNR !

There are bigger fish to fry. As the biggest stakeholder, we are being treated like chicken little. Our rights as equal stakeholders of a shared resource, have been sold off to backroom deals with a Minister. An RFL will not fix this situation, nor will it stop the encroaching conservationists. The first move forward, should be the formation of a Rec fishing council. Here reps from the various representative groups would form an independent body. This would have a powerful voice. We need our rights under, the fisheties ACT restored, proper surveys and community impact. studies done etc. From here this council, could manage an RFL from a trust fund. Ensuring that our money is protected from abuse.
  10. New Bag limits and Size Limits

I have all the correspondence, and the timeframe. And the emails over months asking both camps to stop it. So happy to share if you want !

With respect Graham, if you (SAFA) have made the decision to abandon the forum, why respond in this thread? Either be part of the forum and share the information that comes from SAFA openly, and deal with any negative or constructive criticism (that may or may not eventuate) professionally, or don't share anything at all with us. I'm not sure what value really comes from telling us SAFA is doing a great job representing rec fisherman...... but in the next sentence imply SAFA won't have anything to do with this rec fishing forum? Cheers. I was alerted to the conversation here. And no I was forced to leave this forum, because of a wave of false allegations.
  12. New Bag limits and Size Limits

Why don't you tell the truth. Where was RFSA ? Oh yeah, they had the arrogance to have their General meeting on the same night !
  13. New Bag limits and Size Limits

SAFA is run from the ground up by its members. On this bag issue, we have a massive reach. The lies that claim we are anything but recreational fisherman, were perpetrated by the DRFC, and supported by the peak body. In fact a senior member of the DRFC lost his position, over these false claims !

Where is SAFA, you have to be kidding ? We now have the biggest reach, of any representative group. Unlike others, we have many avenues to reach us. Be assured we are working hard, and all will be revealed soon. Those that decided early in the piece to make, outrageous claims about us, are about to eat their lies. And sorry, we abandoned this forum, due to personal attacks. We will be at tonight's meeting, see you there !
