  10. I really gave my new trolley a workout on sunday.was overloaded with Crikey Mikey adding his gear on also, but I needed him to act as the work-horse  fell over a couple of times (no damage to anything). will try it again with a much lighter load. but it did make it to cod heavenand this is why we make the long trek.Crikey's First cod.....still waiting for mine
  11. we will come down Brent. have tried it once before for no success, but looking forward to another crack at it. must remember to put some fish out in the sun a couple of days before
  12. bought a trolley yesterday from cheap as chips Gawler . $70 they had 5 left.same as the ones posted here.will be trying it out tomorrow walking up them hills.if it breaks down, it will be jetty only journeys.
  13. the trolleys look the goods :woohoo: :woohoo: do you blokes think that they would be OK for off-road work :) have been thinking of using one of these trollies to get mine & catchsums gear to SAFWAA's club dams.it's a fair old hike carrying fishing gear and chairs (and an esky if I get one of these trollies) our trophy cod are hiding up in these hills B)
  14. maybe they mean once you have caught your quota, then stop practicing "catch & release"we went on a charter with Whyalla Fishing Adventures a few years ago. when we caught our boat limit of snapper, the skipper tried to get us onto some ruggers.after a couple more 75 cm+ snapper were hooked (and released still in the water by the skipper) he moved location.Steve Storic will always have my respect after that ;)
  15. I would love to see a "RAA" type membership to make me feel a lot more comfortablewhen venturing out to sea. (my small boat is out of action at the moment, but have always thought of this when taking it out of the O/H channel  )I find it hard to find anyone would not offer any sort of gratitude for a rescue of any type ???are you blokes fair dinkum on these type of comments ???
  16. catch-sums 100 cm 13.5 kg snapper from a whyalla fishing adventures charter.
  17. how could one be dissapointed in watching that video ?? I was as excited as anyone else.what I was trying to find out is what you did to entice your snapper.I can only presume it was hooked near the bottom. or was it nearer the surface ?? if it was on the bottom, did the fly have a lot of weight in it to get to the depths ?may sound like stupid questions, but if I don't ask, I won't find out.
  18. please explain  :blink:a squid tied fly ?? I'm not sure what fly fishing has to do with the capture.can you explain the procedure to this novice please??the vid only shows reeling it in......Brett, just put your el-cheapo camera on video mode and always take your photos in the highest res.my $100 camera's have always done the job for me for computer sharing
  19. thanks for that Jack. very entertaining grasshopper. the video presentations certainly add to a report.and you don't have to write as much :woohoo: :woohoo:
  20. we both lost one each, and Ron had the largest one and I ended up with 2.we hung around for 3 hours trying for one more as did quite a few others.I would hate to bag out in 20 minutes and head back and not enjoy just being out their.
  21. it's just over 30k's from Port Broughton, so probably took us an hour and a bit.I was surprised at the comradeship out their.the cheering and egging on and the friendly shit-stirring was unbelievable.was just a great feeling watching others land their snapper. rotten ronnie said it was the same atmosphere a couple of years ago when he was fishing amongst 70 other craft.probably due to the fact that you are near guaranteed a snapper hook-up.
  22. My best day out boat fishing at the Illusions. An extremely friendly outing bunched up with about around 15 other craft.
  23. very pro looking :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: now go film yourself catching that monster cod in your private dam :woohoo: :woohoo: looking forward to more OSP's
  24. Crikey Mikey donated a DVD to the SAFWAA library, Murray Cod Magic Volume 1.Give Jono (our sexy librarian) a message and reserve it,It shows lip grippers used efeectively. wish I didn't buy my gloves now after watching this.
  25.  any photos ?????
