  1. same as mully - use some scales, easy as.i think it makes a difference if you pull direct off the reel or use the bend in the rod but im not 100%
  2. For the metro beach and rocks - Daiwa Neoversal 9ft with 2000 luvias & 10 lb braid. For the boat. Light - burkley diablo 2-4kg, daiwa custom kix 2508 with 15 lb braidMedium - G Loomis BSR 803 ( i think ) matched to a 2010 daiwa certate 2500R with 20lbHeavy - Saltiga game combo with 30lb braidGot a few more bits and pieces but these are the ones i usually use.
  3. Jig Master knobs are not plastic, i should know i have 2. one on my certate 2500r ( its wicked) and second on my saltiga game. The only benefit of jig master is greater choice in colour, which helps it to match the reel.http://www.rayannes.com.au/daiwa-shimano-reels-australia/reel-upgrades/jigging-master-power-knobs-new-stock-here-now/See how good this one looks - awesome colours to choose from
  4. real easy mate. i changed the knobs on my saltiga game and certate - everything comes in the box to do it. Dont know about the warranty but im sure it wouldnt void that. Jig Master knobs look and feel wicked, as well as the standard saltiga upgrade knobs.
  5. May as well go buy your fish.If you want consistently stocked dams - pay for it yourself. No ones gonna stock the ocean with whiting for me - free from pro's and commercial fishermen.

    tuna gear

Im pretty sure that outfit will slay any fish...there was some tests in the tackle junkie mag that had 40 kg concrete weights hanging off those venom rods. unreal stuff.
  7. Looks like theres gonna be a few guys in the shed this weekend!Thats a genius idea, well done!
  8. Did anything ACTUALLY happen as a result of those "allocations" in the article or was it just some bullshit piece where they just say oh yeah, we'll put money here, there and everywhere but REALLY nothing happens? If its really going to result in benefit, great. Next thing you know we'll be paid to kick a ball at the oval because the grass is dying and in short suppy. i mean come on, the government can bearly look after people with all the taxes and levies they charge - let alone the needs of recreational anglers.

    Nippers

HiJust wondering if you can pump nippers on metro beaches? Are there distinctive holes to look for etc. I have no idea about nippers or the availability of them and other bait off local beaches so any help would be great. Im not after anyones exact posi but if someone could point me in the right direction i can work the rest out. Thanks heaps.
  13. can you pump nippers on metro beaches or do you only find them in further locations?I know you can pump them on moonta beach but im not keen to drive that far
  14. Ive been fishing for them pretty often this year with reasonable success. I use a standard whiting rig with a 15 gr pyramid sinker and one hook with two red beads. all this on 10ld leader. ive tried the running sinler ring but i find this much more effective and ive not hook one in the gut yet this year. If you use tube worms dig your own if you can - soo much better and in 30 min you have enough for 2 sessions.
  15. your a champ. thanks for that!
  16. Hi Guys,I just got a bunch of positions but need a program or something that i can enter them into to find out the distance fro mthe nearest ramp or locality. Does anyone know of something i can download to do this. Ive tried google earth and it gives me the position but i cant seem to get any distances (ie how many klms out).Any help would be great. Thanks
  17. Kool..thanks for all the feedback.Id be pretty happy with a 2500. ive already got a 3500 setup and i know the 2500 can ake 300 yrds of 20lb and can handle it.Cheers fellas
  18. Thanks guys!Quicky - i think this one is the alrounder too. Ever caught any smaller stuff like KG whiting or salmon? does it still handle on the smaller fish or bit more of a specific species rod?Had a play with one - seems to have a lightish tip but i find most diawa rod a little stiffer in tip compared to a say a shimano.
  19. Hey all,Just wanted to know if anyone has used a combo like this. Was having a quick chat with someone who bought a 70s matched to a certate 2500r (20lb braid). Obviously im aware of the price but what range of fish can this tackle? whiting - snapper? Seems like a good medium tackle outfit (rod rated 4 to 8 kg). Whiting to snapper are the main target species in mind for me.So yeah if youve used it please let me know what you caught and how it handles..Thanks in advance
  20. AS the title says, where can i buy dacron to make my own assist hooks? Can you get it from tackle stores?Cheers
  21. Last time they talked about introducing renewable boat licences, they said people who currently held a licence would be excluded from the "renewal" thing...thats why i went out a quickly got one turns out it didnt happen.
  22. Last time i fished there, i noticed that it was a spot for seaweed to collect and there was only patched where you could cast. i dont mean bits of weed, it was like thick carpet..Much better spots along that beach for whiting and whatever else
  23. ive got a 2-5 kg tcurve and i wouldnt use anything else at the moment. its my main fishing rod. use it for whiting, mullet, gar, bream, salmon trout etc... it can also cast a burley float, so its not too noodle like but still sensitive
