  1. Shame to see another Aussie icon closing down, I see they have been flooded with orders since the announcement which will keep them afloat a little longer.. I still have a couple of Alvey reels too one being a cedar spool surf reel.. caught many Salmon & Mulloway with it too..certainly beautiful reels that are easily maintained & that last forever..
  2. Thanks guys, yes she's been at me for years to get one but I kept holding off.. kept spending money on new trout rods, reels & lures.. Comes with a carry bag that fits onto my waders belt & I can even fall in the river too because it's fully waterproof.. Pam actually went into BFC and got it, they also gave her $30 off as well.. That 2004-2005 Trout Season Report next to the PLB has 22 pages to it and it's one that I have finally finished writing up from my hand written diaries.. still four more seasons to write up before I reach to where I started off with a com
  3. With the trout season opening only a couple of weeks away I had a nice surprise this morning when Pam walked in and gave me a package that she had picked up at BCF.. Having lower severe back problems and suffering with angina Pam went bought me a GME personal locator beacon. I have been thinking of getting one for quite some time mainly because I always fish the rivers on my own. This one also has GPS which will put me a 5 meter radius of being found which is better than a 5 kilometer range. So I registered it this morning and it's all go from now.. Let's hope I don't have to use it..
  4. Well done guys and that's a great job you did on raising over $2k and for for a very good cause too.. Congratulations to all of you and to those that supported the fund raiser... cheers Adrian
  5. I know this is not a sunset, but just had to take it.. this was from yesterday at 7:30am as the sun rose from behind me on another frosty -4 degree morning.. much the same again this morning just a little warmer at -2 degrees.. cheers Adrian
  6. Thanks doobie & yes I do get a little home sick from time to time too.. cheers Adrian

  8. ** This is an article I wrote & had published for the trout season here in Tasmania last season, it may be of some interest to the trout fisher's on the site.. Hope it may be of some use to all the fisho's on the site actually, enjoy the read.. '' EARLY SEASON RIVER STRATEGIES - BAIT AND LURE.'' Well with another season soon upon us once again (5th August), early season fishing can run hot and cold for this time of the year. With the season start still being in Winter we are still going to have quite a bit of inclement weather to put up with for a month or two. Cold, wi
  9. Here's a few photos of the sunset tonight taken from our backyard here in Sheffield... cheers Adrian And one from June below..
  10. Certainly be an easy trout to stalk.... beautiful looking fish.. A bit like the albino trout that's here in Tassie..
  11. I'll be out of hibernation in 27 days time when the trout season opens on 5th August.... Trouble is it's still Winter too...
  12. I only put the music to these small clips because I edited them from my full version videos.. Probably should have left them as they were.. Yes I do use a swivel with the hard body lures as it saves time when changing lures as I often do.. they haven't made any difference to the action or my catch rate either.. also saves me taking my reading glasses with me too.. I was actually a bit slack that day too as I also left the anti kink set up on as well.. something I never use with hard body lures , only used with the blade spinners..
  13. Sorry about the background music on the Mersey River one, in the process of trying to find one without copyrights.. That one was one of them.. didn't like it, so trying another one. may have to do the others too...
  14. And one more that I forgot to add..
  15. Well, today I finally joined up on You Tube, then place a couple of short video clips on it.. cheers Adrian
  16. And again last night at 5:00 pm...
  17. Most enjoyable video clip Allroy with beautiful scenery and some very nice fish as well.. You should go on Snapfish.com and make yourself a book and calendar too, they have a lot of specials on at the moment.... cheers Adrian
  18. Here's a few more B&W's... cheers Adrian April sunset.. Cradle Mountain.. Beautiful conditions on the Meander River.. Sunset, Mersey River below the Union Bridge.. Dynan's Bridge at Weegena before it was washed away by June floods in 2016 Storm clouds at Kimberley.. Cows in Paddock at Weegena.. Cobweb on a cool morning at Meander..
  19. Colour or B&W with the trout ??? I like both but feel the B &W does have something special about it myself.. cheers Adrian
  20. That big old football came over from Victoria, it was one of many I got as a kid from my uncle who was then the secretary of the Footscray Football Club back then.. cheers Adrian
  21. As much as I like photos full of colour I also have a liking for black & white photos as there's just something to like about them.. maybe it's because they bring back some good memories of days gone by when all photos were in black and white and even sepia... Today's cameras bring out the best in black and white too... Any way here's a few to start with and I'll add to the list every so often.. The bottom ones are of me when I was a little fella.. boy that was quite some time ago.. cheers Adrian
  22. Sounds like it was a pretty interesting & informative evening RR.. and you've learnt how to tie a few new knots as well.. cheers Adrian
  23. They're nice little 'bows wilda.. should grow quite nicely.. Spot on, check for the Cormorants for sure, they'll clean out a dam in no time at all.. can eat up to three times their own body weight per day.. They've cleaned out many dams here not long after being stocked.. cheers Adrian
