  1. Was just wondering what factors are needed for the summer mullies to fire inside the coorong ,say near Godfreys Landing or Towatchery island? I have heard that water flow is key but not sure of the specifics. We have had a relatively wet winter ,is that a good sign for summer mullies inside the coorong ? I am supposing how much water flows through the Goolwa barrage is also important due to salinity etc but have no idea whether strong flows or low flows would be better for the summer season ahead. Anyway ,if anyone has thoughts about how the coming summer season looks I would ap

  6. Hi Des,yes,I have talked to Trevor and Mozzie down there on many an occasion, great and knowledgeable guys. One question,i see you run your sinker all the way down to the hook, how does that compare with keeping it back off the hook for bite / hookup rate? I thought it may put the fish off biting having it so close to the hook but obviously with your results it doesn't ,what are your thoughts either wayMonkey
  7. I met one of the Mully "regulars" who now fishes lures because he says using livies "is too easy" (half his luck!),anyway,he says use mono as a main line coz you get less tangles when live bait fishing...I've heard this now from a few of the regulars down there
  8. incredible as always..............
  9. @DES,great info mate, btw, which web site do you get the sea temperature info from? Thanks
  10. @Kelvin,thanks for that ,might just have to go with frozen blood worms as my back up bait, they can do pretty well at times
  11. @ashleycraig80 , did you mean DES....he really knows his stuff, with the flathead too
  12. how do you guys rate cockles for YFW in the metro area?.I pretty much always use live tubies but I need a back up bait on occasion.
  13. especially around November they come through the pipes, the old dude who lives in an apartment there has great fun calling the council inspectors in to stop people fishing over the pipes, quite a laugh to see,but hey, you're not supposed to do it.Any way, last year june I was getting them early morning near the bower road gates, they can show up almost any where
  14. Hi guys,is Glenelg open during daylight hours again? Thanks
  15. well done boys, try some small vibe lures as well, great fun , just got some salmon of about 45~50cm off the beach near stansbury on some vibes and they just love themBaba
  16. as stated above,i have caught quite a few in the real shallows (maybe 3rd pylon from beach),unweighted piece of pilchard floated down, then hold on,they go hard, some fish are up to 40cm mark at times
  17. When I fish in Japan i go to one tackle store that is open 24 /7,they have about 5 large tanks for live fish (horse mackrel usually),but also live shrimp which I use for sea bass, for $15 enough shrimp for at least 2 outings.................I'll be there again in September and can't wait.Of course with the population size here in Adelaide you could never do what they do but it's great when you get a chance to use a service like that
  18. Just wondering if anyone has tried (or caught) KGW on either tommie or red mullet flesh?Baba
  19. When i was fishing in Japan earlier this year i pulled in 6 good size puffers which one of the local fishers quickly snatched up to take home and eat ,says he's been doing it for years, and hell,he's still alive!P.S the other local guys thought he was nuts too!!!
  20. Sounds great, count me in,I'll give them a go on the yellowfin and king george whiting ,it would be great to get a reasonably priced worm on to the marketMonkey
  21. The water runs REAL fast out there, and yes, you'll probably be "annoyed" by the snapper you can't keep.Any way, heavy sinkers are usually quite neccessaryMonkey
