  3. 10/10 to URH for helping out at the Rally this morning at Parliament House, and giving the talk he did, along with David Parnell and Mark Aldridge There was a decent turn-out of 150ish people, with a small convoy of cars and boats too.It may not be eneough to stop this SuperTrawler, but no-one can say we didnt try ;)As others have said, maybe bad timing detracted from the numbers who would have attended otherwise.Another " Well Done " to Jeff who's running with a facebook page regarding the trawlerIt was nice to meet JimboJames, Banga, and Dwayno from The Search for Patagonian Toothfish too
  4. Awesome work FN.Wether its an original creation or not, as TT said you really seem to have a knock for that part of your hobby Must be very satisfying to catch fish on something you've made up yourself !

  6. But wait there's more, a whole lot more  http://www.publicintegrity.org/2012/01/20/7934/infographic-aboard-lafayette Isn't it working in commonwealth waters making the S.A. Waters bit mute anyway TB ? I'd rather see the Stevedores etc simply refuse to service the ship
  7. Maybe old news ?http://www.fishingworld.com.au/news/pew-admits-it-targeted-australia-for-lockouts-left-us-alone

  11. Im surprised that the ship was actually allowed to Berth at Pt Lincon Sureley any of the Unions involved could have black-listed the ship , meaning it couldnt take on the supplies needed ?That was a great oppurunity missed imo  Great to see Lee Rayner leadinga large protest today.I fear it would probbaly take a High Court challenge tho to have any real hope of making this monstrosity go away :pinch:
  12. Hope a big snag doesnt "bite " the hook or you'd be testing its winding ability
  13. That says it all, but then since when does potential profit " listen " to sense :S
  14. I mised the "Southport" part of your initial question Choco Pretty much what Khombi advised, though you do get a few Mullies in the nearby Onk, but for Salmon, you can try the nearby Jetty and rockwalls to the Nth of it.Just be careful there !
  15. And as we all know, after those 3 years, we are obliged to vote in another pack of buck-passers :pinch:
  16. The federal government already knows that China has its eye's on the North of Australia as a food bowl for its increasing population, and they're quite possibly mining our minerals in addition to the LPG they already get far cheaper than Australians can buy it
  17. Heaps of us catch heaps of small fish too :pinch: The good news is that there are larger ones about also It would probably help if u gave us some more info on what species you r after, landbased, boat fishing etc
  18. You're doing well on the research af
  19. Exactly, Keeping it quiet would be a great way of 'sneaking in " maybe ?Sure I saw it "somewhere" , but not exactly IMHO, its definiteley making an extra fuss about if true !
  20. Hi TB.Have you seen anything published about the likelihood of the Marigis' sister ships turning up too Seems to me they are trying to get away with this all by letting us think there may be only the one ship taking itys quota, whereas from what I understand, she may have up to SIX sister ships, meaning it would be SEVEN times the Quota     I think this aspect is being kept very quiet, while on the contrary it should be " shouted from the rooftops "
