  2. Hey guysJust doin a bit of braggin, i know its not massive, but its my first and i've tried for quite a while to get this fish, so Im gonna brag about it if i want to Caught it at pt Hughes in 20ft of water on sunrise, first cast. We got two fish, 62cm and a 45cm for my brother, the only two for the day. Caught on a TD Sol 3000, and medium Sol rod, on a pilchard bait.
  3. I was given a Shrade Uncle Henry fillet knife for my 21st and, in my opinion, it is a great blade.
  4. good to hear, and thanks fo the karma. But dont talk to me about speeding fines, unfortunately i received a very expense letter from SAPOL this week
  5. but then the money, raised from boat ramp fees and the $50 fee when you register your boat, would go towards something useful instead of being used in other areas of the community that are not fishing based.I think, if the money comes from fishing and boating, then it should be used for fishing and boating.
  6. Hey guys.We have just got back from Pt Hughes yesterday, and just wanted to let all of you know that the Pt Hughes council have neglected the boat ramp again. It seems every year they wait until boats are literally stuck and they receive complaints before dredging the channel to gain access to the gulf. Not only is it bloody frustrating to have to wait hours for the tide to raise enough to get out, but what happens if a storm blows in on a low tide and the sandbar is blocking access to the ramp. Surely they do not want families crossing a sandbar with swell breaking over it. I would think they
  7. I use a Tekota 600 and it is perfect for what i use it for, it is matched to a Penn Mariner plus rod
  8. I have a Daiwa SOL 3000 matched to the SOL med. rod. feels nice and balances beautifully
  9. would the saltiga be a little heavy? Not critisizing, just asking.
  10. ive looked into these, great feeling rods, and so light. i am considering one of these or the sniper (very light)and i reckon the certate would be beautiful on the assassin
  11. yes, i realise that, I dont catch something everytime i am skippering my mates and family. But is was more than just the fish not biting. Thanks for the numbers Finatic should steer me towards some decent charters.
  12. Although my first charter was crap, my mate and meself are already talking about the next one. We are thinking of going with Fuzzels fishing sdventures out of Arno. At least i have seen the dvds with fish caught.
  13. Hey Del, what charter did you go out on?
  14. They mentioned they are going to take the website down because it doesn't reflect what they do now anyway.I see that it does only say soft drink provided, maybe i misread, so i take back my criticisation of them for that, but i am still not happy, and would not recommend them to anyone.
  15. Hey guys, I have been on a charter on the weekend just gone, my first, and i wanted to share what went on, in hope of someone informing me of whether this is normal or satisfactory, because our group was not happy.Any way, I setup a charter with Wildfishin Charters departing Pt Hughes. I was excited as i fish Pt Hughes regularly, but wanted to see what the people who earn a living fishing the area, do to catch a feed.Price was reasonable, with it being $150 per person, and we all were more than happy to pay this for an exciting day on the water.Upon arrival we found that the skipper was not t
  16. hey guys, just paid $50 to replace my Raider Finesse Bream rod tip. Only when i got home the first guide on the tip section is way out of whack. Clearly noticable to me and even my mother, so it must be right out there. What to do?
  17. so if we look through the catalogue, and find something we like, then let you know and it may be ordered? If that is right, you need to know by friday the 26th right.Just making sure
  18. I beleive G loomis will be ceasing the sale of the blanks soon. only complete factory rods will be available, so hurry up and get the blank now if you can.
  19. My favorites are squidgy flickbaits in 70mm sizes, fav colour is the pilly one. Although, that said I have caught some great fish on 5in Gulp Jerkshads, but not many smaller snook.I personally do not think that which brand is a factor, more just the way you work them. get the to slow sink to the weedy bottom, and then hop it along slowly, remembering Snook are an ambush predator that prefers to sit low, close to the weed bed and shoot out with a short fast burst of speed to nail a baitfish.
  20. Jeez, not even 2 months? How did you break it
  21. That is a good point Brenton, but as CK said, there is a mountain of good knowledge in the report sections, especially for beginning anglers who like and need to be shown what species can and should be targeted in specific areas
