ay there if you have the balls and dont mind the odd white pointer or bronzy coming in for a look try the rocky reefs and ledges out from wool bay and edithburge but thats all im gona tell ya . I dont personal dive for them but a close mate loves it .

are you intending on buying from a dealer or private? Only reason i ask is a mate was wanting to buy from interstate and he couldnt find a dealer that would stand by there warranty due to the fact that he was going to be taking the boat back to SA. They were saying that if any thing should happen to the hull or boat they wouldnt be fitting the bill to bring it back to be fixed. not sure in your case but just ask if about warranty and who pays for what if your buying from a dealer.

A guys can anybody help me out with some info reguarding Plank Shoals out from Port Broughton?Is it a wreck or natural ground?, If there are wrecks in the area what are they or what type of bottom would i expect if i was to fish out there.Lastly can anyone help me out with some marks for the area or a snapper spot they would like to give up for a fellow keen snapper fisho ?

you could try Trevor Bennett from Double Header fishing charters in Port Broughton . You will probably get the big reds and some big deep water KGs this time of the year just ring him and ask . What do you have to lose

I entered in the comp for the last 3 years and the weather has been fine. You do get the occassional swell heading up the gulf. It just depends on where you intend to fish and at what times of the day. The Lowley RIP can be interesting at times on the calmest days. When you enter you will recieve some local drops which range from in close to 30 to 40 kms out so there is a bit of help for ya . 2008 and 2009 we fished in a 18 footer and last year we up scaled to a 20foot Allision . I havent had the pleasure of seeing a Great White in action stealing a snapper from your line but I do beleive it would be one to remember. As for some comments made before about not as many snapper around this year well from my experience since the band was lifted in December the amounts of snapper that I had pulled out and my mates the stocks are pretty good compaired to other years. Port augusta has 2 ramps one either side of a floaing pontoon and whyalla has 5 ramps in total all with concrete walk ways .

Good choice mate .There are a few options like KG whiting in the bay and off the jetty, salmon trout and the occassional bigger salmon , snook squid and big tommies all off the jetty. You can adventure out to Mount Cammel Beach about 40 minutes drive fromm Venus Bay and case the big salmon on the surf beach. You will need a large beach rod 10 to 12 foot and a good strong reel. You can also higher a tinny form the caravan park to fish the reef for whiting and what eva comes along. Its quite safe in the bay just dont try and go out through the head lol . mate as if you leave the mighty bar crusher home. I have towed a 5m quintrex over there quite a few times . I was only going to Venus Bay not Steaky but its only like an hour give or take difference. The roads are fine, nice and smooth so you will definately regret not taking it . Take the mighty Bar Crusher for the road trip .
