  3. hi check out this school of monster salmon taking shelter in one of the Coombra Lagoons @ Yalata on South Oz's Far West Coast. not feeding & very fussy we still managed few fish from this school(plus a tailor). some of the salmon landed close to 5kg, some larger not landed enjoy cheers BigAshhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S73U52L3oq8
  4. yes red banks or the area just to the nth can produce mullies at some stagesthere is a track that runs along the cliff top from redbanks.just make sure you shut the gates & leave the area with no messmullies are very finicky & theres only a few that come from here each yeargood luck BigAsh

Braid is forLure fishing, soft plastics, hard bodies & blades for snapper etcdeep water uglies 50mt plus like kingfish, samsons, nannies etcwhiting fishing braid is great until you drift then mono is the gobig surface fish like 100kg plus tuna is all going back to mono, samefor big kings taken on surface baits.bait fishing for XXL snapper no matter the depth mono & circle hooks all the way.bait fishing in surf= monolure casting salmon= braidmost good reels come with spare spool for a reasoncheersBigAsh
  8. i like my t-curve tournament 2-5kg. oldie but a goldie.used many reels on it, aspire 2500/8lb suffix was great for SP work, landed a 30lb'er on this.also used it with CI4 stradic 2500 15lb also great, got a new Rareranium 2500 coming can't wait to try that, maybe run 15lb on my G.Loomis Mossy back 7-12lb rated i think(these are awesome, one of the best i've used, longer in the butt than most light rods)cheersBigAsh

Howdyi have 2 x 9500SS & 1 x SSM in same size1st original SS is nearly 20 years old i reckon & still going strong, had a few repairs but thats life, nothing major just anti reverse worn out after 2 million casts???the SSM is about a 1/3 of the quality & still ok if you are prepared to take risk with them & replace every few years if you can get a good 2nd hand SS for respectable money thats the way i would gocheersBigAsh

  13. thats par for the course at the moment in our area.seen on the news the other night that all the GW's had stayed around the neptunes & not come into the gulfs......not sure where they get their info.we have had up to 3 sharks in 1 day harrassing our snappergreat footage, even better to see it in real lifecheersBigAsh

    Carpsi got meeself a stella 8000SWPG 25kg's max drag should land most tuna.i'll be back at portland this year fishing with a mate Gawaine from Think Big Charters from westernport sometime in may, deckie/designated driver for a few days.did it for 4 days last year & can't wait to be back there again.we bagged out every day while some other charters were getting donutsi'm gunna get me a barrel this year & i reckon stella 8000 will do it.we used stella 18 & 20000's last year & on 18-25kg school fish you could land them in a couple minutes under huge drag pressurecheersBigAsh

  20. should be able to put coordinate settings into decimal minutesgarmins have a setting looks like(definately works on gpsmap550 as i have 1)hddd'mm.mmmwhich i think is degrees, minutes & decimuteswhich should give 3 decimal points on the end.hope this helpscheersBigAsh
