I hear what ya saying finatic and appreciate the input...... i have 2 7000's and they have never missed a beat, although they are older models made in sweden and about 7 years old and well looked after. The reel in question as far as i kno is still made in sweden. I kno they are popular with comp casters??. Sorry did u have another reel in mind finatic?

  6. gday all... been recommended that the abu 6500 c3 ct mag elite is a great long distance casting reel any idea where i can pick one up?? and price?? any input appreciated cheers

  9. 50 pounds plenty i reckon david_c, i use the older model steve starling sport fishing series 9 foot shorespin not the crappy blue ones they got out now. Only rated 5-10 kg but very gutsy
  10. cant go wrong with one of those two bloke ;D the newly designed stradic probably the better, but thats just my personel opinion. better spool design. ive got two of the older model and there goin on 7 years old

  12. @fushlups i run certate 2000 but bought it at cost price. have landed well over legal snapper on it, and have never had a bird nest from casting braid quadzillion times, As said before better to buy once than trice. sols are good too ;D

Uve spent good money on rod why not ure reel as well, personel preference of course. the new stradics and daiwas around $250 are of excellent value and once uve used one ule never look back. u could land legal mullies on a 1-2 kg stick if ya wanted too with a quality reel and drag and patience, and preferably NO SNAGS
  14. Good value for the money fishlups ;D ive got a few in different models, 2-5kg 702 me fav pulled a few good legal mullys on it too. Hope ya didnt get conned into paying too much for it locally bro

  16. Oh and ive always used natural colors, match the hatch so to speak. Not that fluros dont work im sure they do i just prefer naturals for legal size mullys in the onk;D.

  22. gday lazy nice reel bloke good value for money those reels, is that nitlon braid on there?? and wot poundage champ?? got in 40lb for heavy stuff ;D, not sure how the lighter stuff behaves let us kno wot ya think cheers 8)
