  1. got a couple of good ones around high 30's in the onk on hard bodies, dropped a thumper that woulda gone way over mid 40's. at my feet couple months ago put up a good fight too ;D. took me a week or so to get over it
  2. @brooksy. they must be hungry liitle buggers at times then, bet u where trippn out when that one came to the boat
  3. there u go i just gave ya one for the hell of it
  4. Yeah its a good idea to stay away from the area if ya bream fishing all together. i have read that spawning fish can actually not spawn or drop there load through the stress of bein caught. wether dis is true or not ile leave to someone else to hopefully elaborate. Theres plenty of people that still go there to catch these bream on purpose as well as undersized mullys they have no respect for the laws or future genarations. the government should employ more fisheries officers.... ive never seen one ???
  5. mmmmmm commercial mincer thats the ticket. apperantly if u look in the right places u can find an old one for reasonable price. ;D
  6. I release all bream caught nowadays and would release any big mulloway if i ever catch a big one. But schoolie sized cum home as well as gar, tommies, squid, snaps, cuttle fish(occasionally) . Not only do i fish for sport but i have hungry mouths to feed at home so bringing home a good feed when i go out makes it more financialy viable with the money spent on gear, boat repayments, bait etc. but say if i get a good haul of gar, tommies, squid, snapper i wont target them for awhile and catch sumthin else. ;Dcheers
  7. bloody oaf snaps would be alota fun on that gear ;D
  8. yeah its a bit messy aint it.... > ive used a manual mincer for a couple years now and yeah there not made to chew up bones. my last mincers blades shattered within months from the pressure and looked like they where made from a very pouress metal. so if u can find spare blades get em which u usually can with the ones from ebay. the main problem ure probably having is ure mincing fair sized salmon which will clog up the feeding spindle mechanism making it fricken hard work. i usually only mince up gar and tommy frames and left over pillies, but have done a few salmon and remember cutting th

  10. i think ule find that the starlo stix might 7"3 but has longer butt than normal so u dont benefit from any more lentgh,(correct me if im wrong) ;D. ive had the 7"6 raider for couple years and it casts the lightest softys and hard bodys further than any other lure chuckn rod i own(t-curve,starlostix tourny, etc, etc ???.but could be contributed to type of braid line lay on quality reel etc,but i will say the 7"6 is a very soft floppy blank and not one i use often unless im chuckn alot of really light feather weight softys .the only reason i bought this rod was for the extra casting distance for f

  12. i can see a need for o/h in real deep water for line capacity for sure(and brute force) ;D. locally most grounds i fish are 60 feet and under which is fairly shallow so the spin gear is plenty for me . but i do use a couple of over heads for slightly heavier applications ;D

  18. Yes i checked it out earlier yobs ;D, definetly sum quality bargains to be had there , the mens murchison bushshirt (the only one with a hood) for $100 looks ok but it said water resistant..... im sure it would be cool in light rains but if it dont say 100% garaunteed water proof it wont do.standing on portys jetty in gale force winds pissing down with rain ule soon no if it water proof or not. might just get one aswell anyway they look very warm ;)thanks for the input guys ;D ;D
