  1. Me too, and it'll get a big sloppy kiss from me ( the poor thing) before release And I want to land a metro snapper on a soft plastic
  2. Top effort mate, you put half of us boaties to shame with that nice little haul.Musta been fun!!!
  3. If you know some of the close whiting spots, I would head out and hit up the KGs, with a squid jig out there under a float. Kill two birds etc.Sorry I can't help more, but it's true that boat ramp ain't great especially with a bit of swell rolling in swinging the ass end about
  4. Yep, not a great idea.Probably need to get better at distributing the food the world currently has, before there is an actual need for it.Be surprised if this gets up just yet, but with the technology there, it's only a matter of time I guess.
  5. Thanks mate, i like the idea of shorter leader, plus that sunline is pricy stuff haha. And yeah I've been flicking through some of the older posts, guys like samboman make it look easy
  6. I know some pro bream guys are members here, and I would like advice on basics for bream luring technique. My boat is set up for offshore, so most of my bream fishing is done landbased port & westlakes.I use 2-4kg shimano 7ft sp rod with 6lb braid on a shimano Sedona 2500 reel. Use 4 - 8lb sunline leader wound on about 5 turns of the reel. My results have been less than spectacular, with summer approaching, some tips would be valuable, especially for an alternative to the snapper during november.Tight lines all
  7. Thanks heaps, the response has been awesome. As always main concern will be safety so much appreciate the words of caution. One of our group is planning to write an article on our adventure, but I'll try get a decent s&h report back to repay the advice. Hope the weather gods are smiling for once.Cheers
  8. Yes ranger great read. Did not know about the black tiger snakes ouch. Thanks mog too, i do tend to agree with what you've said re samsons further south... Maybe it's the better depth hey and haystack isl. Is very very productive. Like ranger said, we discovered some good stuff on the sound and hit 50cm kgs and nearly ran out of time to even hit haystack first trip out
  9. Have been studying the charts a lot and hope kings or samsons might lurk out there. Good to hear about reds, that was our main intent. Wedge will be on the agenda next year once Joseph banks is mastered. Many thanks
  10. Will be in tumby for a week leading up to snap closure.Never fished here and would really value any tips re target species and what to expect from the Joseph banks group.I have fished haystack island from Marion bay, but am very excited about the Joseph group. Thanks in advance
  11. I can't comment on the reels as I haven't tried them but I agree that the rods are easily as good as you say for that price bargain. Maybe shows how good ABU are. I have a light spin 3-6kg muscle tip 2.
