  1. With a pre-heated mould after the first couple of pours it will be much easier, i also use just an old saucepan and a soup ladle as this has a very small spout on one edge. Once you get on a roll just keep going and you'll end up with a result like these.Good luck and wear welders gloves and safety glasses.
  2. @ JM was the last bend captured on film, and yes you are correct it was in my hands last but what a bend it had before she broke. Rather glad it broke in my hands than yours. :woohoo:
  3. That will do it, thanks mate. :woohoo:Wish i was a bud light right now. :woohoo:
  4. All is not lost, just means it's back to the ugly sticks for a wee while. Will also fire up the Sabre again, the only difference being that this is an overhead. And yes this one is old skool too being over 30 yrs old. :woohoo:
  5. Hi hookstersWell it's finally happened, a much loved Classic Rod FT67 built by Yatesy from Sport Fishing Scene has come to an end on a huge ray. I purchased this rod some 25 odd years ago and has done me well, i have caught many a fish on it with the most being the Elusive Silver Ghost.Has travelled to a lot of destinations and have some great times with it.It was the prize of my collection, anyway it can rest now as it has done it's job. I am still a happy man as it has served me well over that 25 yrs so i can't complain, i think that time frame is very good and a testament to the qu
  6. Yep just through the nose. That's the only way i do it. Some use other ways, but this has proven to be more successful for me.
  7. Agree with Southie, as myself being a mully fisher i have had more success with hookups using the said circles and would not look back now. I hooked onto a fish of a lifetime on the weekend but lost it due to a bust off. The line failed me this time but was my own fault as i was pitting too much hurt on the fish when i should have backed the drag off. Lost it when it was only 5 mtrs from the boat. Lesson learned. This all took place in the northern area.
  8. Well done Jack and Co, likewise was good to say gooday, as Just_Me stated i reckon i got busted off which i think would have been my PB and a fish of a lifetime. I won't dwell on it but will just get out there and give it another shot some time, so close yet so far away after finally getting it's head turned and bringing it towards the boat and putting plenty of hurt onto it he won the day by busting off about 5 mtrs from the boat. :woohoo:
  9. Dodge tideThis is a local South Australian term for a neap tide with minimal rise and fall over the course of a day or two. While very 'flat' neaps occur in a number of locations worldwide, the term 'dodge' is used only in South Australia. Professor Sir Robert Chapman, C.M.G., writing in the Official Yearbook of the Commonwealth of Australia of 1938, stated"At spring tides the range, due to the semi-diurnal waves, is 2(M2 + S2), and at neaps, if the two are equal, or nearly equal, they practically neutralize one another and cause no rise nor fall at all. This is what happens at Port Adelaide w
  10. Better of playing dodge ball for the day Jack. Seriously though i do agree that the dodge suits me better and have done well on the dodge for the Mulllies, bear in mind that that is only bin one of my spots. :woohoo:

  12. Agree with you totally on this, the only thing i have ever gut hooked with a circle was a recent 9kg Doggie. :woohoo:And must say that my hookup rate with circles has now converted me. :woohoo:
  13. Was out on the wet stuff on thursday and landed this one, weighed in at 9kg, this is the biggest one i have ever caught. :woohoo:
  14. Hi HookstersJust curious if any Hooksters have tried these out yet and their view on them. For more details on them.http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/OSPREY-INLINE-GUIDELESS-ROD-7FOOT-2-1METRE-NEW-/260585855966?_trksid=p3907.m8&_trkparms=algo%3DMW%26itu%3DUCC%26otn%3D12%26po%3DLCA%26ps%3D63%26clkid%3I am thinking that they would be a great squidding rod. :woohoo:
  15. Have heard that sites like these may produce the goods that appear to be what you ordered if you get anything at all, however upon receiving them you only get the shell with no component parts in them what so ever. and are of poor quality. Buyer beware
