  1. Too me it feels like a decent bee sting, rubbing the wound on the belly seems to work, within 1/2hr the pain has gone. Good to know because my flatty fishing is about to ramp up again wading and now yakking the shallows up here. Hitting ya thumb with a hammer hurts way more!!!!!!!!!!!!

  2. Fished the Yacht Squadron at outer Harbour last night for a bit of fun with the missus. Was hoping for a few tommies for a ray session.....but caught everything but :PEnded up catching a handful of near legal Bream' date=' aswell as a couple of just legal models. Also managed a Garfish, some trumpeter, one tommy and even a small flathead (my third and biggest from this spot in almost three years fishing here)[img']http://sphotos-g.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-prn1/535405_10151460108994190_446314497_n.jpg[/img]

Some of those could be turned into baits. No matter what size flatties are a top catch and interesting fish. I love wading around the shallows flicking lures and catching the odd one or two.
  3. Remember that anyone retrieving has right of way regardless of which lane they are in' date=' and what state of launching you are in. You never know if there is someone injured on board, hole in the boat, etc. Had a big mouth have a go at me one day at sullies for launching in a non-priority launching lane (nothing says you can't). He retrieved down the priority launch lane and started mouthing off at me in front of his yachtie mates. If the tosser had read his boating manual before leaving home, he would have been aware he could of pulled in behind me and I would be obliged to get out the way - which I would have.Another note from your manual - take note of which side of the harbour entrance you need to be on whilst exiting / entering. The amount of people that don't know this simple rule is dumbfounding.Take your knowledge and commonsense with you and leave your attitude at home. You will find most people will try and help you.[/quote']Agreed, I'd always believed retrievals had priority. What is a priority launch or retrieve lane, never encountered this phenomena yet????
  4. I love superglue for added insurance! I use it when tying light braid to leader, I use it when I make wind on leaders (like the bought ones) made with dacron and nylon, and I often use it to coat my bimini twist on my gamefishing tackle, caught all manner of fish on these setups from small rubbish to big kings/sharks and the knot/connection has never let me down. Any superglue doubters, give it a go, it doesn't perish your line, just let it dry before it gets wound onto the spool! lol.

  5. Wow, only seen a pic in an old magazine of one of them. All sorts of odd things happen in fishing like the shallow ceduna tuna video. My most unexpected coorong capture (from mundoo) was a 1.2kg red gurnard (like the butterfly gurnard with the pretty wings) different to the ones i've caught off pt mac and robe. Certainly was a shock after catching small mullys on the last few pilly cubes!

  6. Good stuff yakmandoMy best on 1kg mono was 2.59kg at cape jaffa.Probably best weight to line class (but was braid line) was 9.5kg on 4lb (1.8kg braid). Used to get stacks of good fish in shallow here on light braid from 4 to 8lb b/s and fish were all sizes up to 11kg +.My best on light line at your age was probably 28cms on 20 pound mono!!!!!Good stuff mate....good post :fishing:

  7. And trout only continue year in and year out for us because of a few hard working people involved with SAFFA and for all of us that appreciate trout fishing we should be thankful....but still it is not a clear cut issue.....fishos and greenies....both have a case here :fishing: Not that i'm a greenie by any stretch .....*drawing up phlegm*andpitooey.....ting...yeah hit the spittle tray!!!!!!!

  8. I voted release too...they're here FOR GOOD!NOT GOOD but NOT LEAVINGI'm with spiny too......Vermin are vermin kill all carp, trout, redfin, etc........Never gonna be the way so our natives have to adapt!....or perish...... :( Not just cod n callop, but galaxids, pygmy perch, river blackfish, etc..Hence my release vote.....nobody that fishes seriously could be a criminal for accidentally having a carp slip back when they release trout if they choose...trout even have a minimum size....??????Yes, yes, i know trout are a sportfish.........yes, yes and i have caught and killed and caught and released them too.....Maybe I'm a crook...But I see this as a poll of the current situation and as such kill or release...carp are here now!Cheers, lads n ladettes :)

  9. love it.Me....trying to troll some flatties from my ebay cheapy yak from spots i normally wade. Should be fun. Shall hit the stones for relaxing balmy evenings with shark baits out for a tug o war with the odd toothy and hopefully some offshore stuff where tuna and deepwater succulents like morwong, nannies and harlequin may be a real chance. Hope to crack a BIG blue parrot fish out there too......see what happens :fishing::boat::sun::sun::sun::clap:

  10. Love it Adon. Heard u got a nice harlequin the other day....bastardo!!!!!!!Go hard or go home...Like a big tug o war!i think its a man thing!Woggy was telling me bout the newish fishery u guys have been hitting....good work. close to home too. If they peel off 37kg, I'm gonna fish with tug boat mooring rope, and hire hulk hogan to hold onto me, and pray me arms don't get ripped off during the tussle!!!!!!!!

  12. I like all fishing related shows, love em. One that was short lived but SA based and hasn't come up yet was Hooked on .... whatever it was by Steve Szasz. Local SA content was good!. used to love Peter Nicholls segment on the channel 10 news as well. But currently I get a laugh from Robson, Like the hook line and sinker blokes and watch IFISH if the missus allows it, albeit not at full noise.ALL good imho!

  13. SAFWAA has dams across the state with Native Australian Freshwater fish (all catch and release) and have many dams with trout' date=' redfin and carp for those that want a feed.[/quote']Does SAFWAA have any fish holding dams within 100km drive from Whyalla?????, Any on Ep???? If so very intrested in the club, as freshwater fishing over here is basically non existant.Cheers,Brad
