  1. THAT IS AWESOME!!! I so want one of those $1000+ cameras for that sort of thing..... If only I were rich!
  2. Thought I would start this topic for the fun of it, as most posts on here end up with it un-intended or not, so what is better? Most people I talk to say Shimano, as they are almost as good quality for sometimes a third of the price. As for me, I am also a Shimano man, which my rod rack certainly screams out! Please give your opinion, and mabye give some examples, like Sienna vs Sweepfire. Why is it you hear that everyone has Sienna's and no one with Sweepfires(me included)? This may become interesting... Cheers, Yakman
  3. surface poppers or surf poppers Sambo Surface samboman :cheer: (first quote, so i dont know how it will work out)Cheers mate.@TT, cheers for the advise as well
  4. Yes, I use SP's and chromies already, and used to use bait, but I just want to try a differant, and more visual method.Cheers
  5. I have been fishing off the rocks at Pt Noar for Salmon now and then over the past 2 seasons, and go to Lincoln/Coffins (aka Almonta) a bit, and was wondering what surface poppers are like for them.I have been told by a guy on Almonta that he loves using them and catches them when they are close to sure, and I also had good fun on poppers for 30cm ones out the yak on 4lb line, but have also been told by a mate that he has heard on different shows that they get spooked by them. What is your stance on it all? Also, if they do work, what sorts and colours are good for them? Cheers
  6. Twitch Twitch had a 6 foot Gladiator Impact Pro for $135. Pretty sure he didnt sell it.Chuck him a PM if you want. That looked to be a nice little rod between 1-4kg. Always a option.Yakman
  7. I want to buy a lure or 2 from here http://www.hotfrog.com.au/Companies/MYLURESHOP-COM but not sure weather i can do pick up? As i am only buying a $10 lure or 2, I aint paying $7 for P&H  , as that would defeat the purpose of saving the $$$ :S ThanksYakman
  8. Mine would have to be my Sure catch Detector Tournament Pro, 4-8lb, paired with my Shimano Aernos FA 1000.Have caught Snapper, Bream, KG's, YFW, ST'S, Snook, carp and more on the rod, and on rod and reel have caught EP's, nice Bream, Trout, Snook, and hooked a Rat King, and Mulloway(both which stole my lures ) on the combo, as i only got the reel a month ago. Its amazing!!! :woohoo: Yakman.
  9. Yeh, Vamp is just a little too much. I have to have some boundary or ill have $300 gone like that
  10. Samboman, Im not loaded! Na, thanks everyone, recon i will be checking out the Zing, it sounds great
  11. Cheers guys.@ J1M, i also am looking at the same zing as well. For around $170 it is a great price. Im probably not going to bother with dropshot or Trion. They are not quite at the callibre i am after. Southie, where can you get that specific Samaki Zing in metro tackle shops. Need to feel one before i buy.Yakman
  12. This is the specific G-loomis i am refering to-Spin - Length 7ft.1 (1pce) Line 2 to 6lb
  13. At the moment i am after a Bream/Trout rod for under $200 dollars, no exeptions! :S This will be used for casting HB's, vibes, SP's, and spinners. I want it no more than 1.5-4kg, and between 6,5-7,1, so i have great taiper for casting. I am running it with 2lb, and 5lb line on my Simano Aernos 1000FA. What should i go? ATM i am looking at the Shimano lure project 1-4kg http://www.anglerswarehouse.com.au/products.asp?categorynospaces=shimano_mf_raider_lure_project_series_rods_376 or the G-Loomis Aussie GL2 http://www.rayannes.com.au/daiwa-shimano-reels-australia/rods-reels/g-loomis-rods/g-loom
  14. For the reel, a penn slammer is a great way to go. Only $100 and smooth as.
  15. I just brought Platypus Super Braid 2 lb 300yds Yellow from Australia for only $40.Cheap as! Impossible to find QUALITY 2lb in SA!(Super braid is the quality Platypus line range isnt it?)

  17. I dont like the sound of this walking catfish. A relative of the pirranah.......Oh owe! I would rather keeping all my toes . What is with the snakehead, sounds nasty. Do they bite?!
  18. Weaver, just out of interest, are you Lucas Weaver out of Wild Coast mag. Just assuming it as your activity is in fresh water section, and cause of your profile name.
  19. Please, please, please dont threat about it. Both Browns were released, and before the trip started my mate(who caught, and ate one in the Grampians)and I stated that I will only ever keep my first one(unless of undesirables, like a swallowed lure, very unlikly). We have planned to let the rest go, like we do with Bream now, unless from a very sustainable place, or Vic. I too kept one of my first but actually felt regretful whilst cleaning it.I agree strongly with that statment, espesially, after what i found.P.S, thanks for all the advise, and yes, i also have heard reddies are the way to go,
  20. Caught a 38cm Rainbow Trout today, and was wondering, what is the best way to cook Trout, and what recipe to use for it. Thanks for advice(in advance)Yakman.
