    Fought pretty well - smashed the lure very hard and took off - I thought the first one was a Cod - this was the second one for the day and I knew what it was as soon as it hit.After its first hit and run and it was much a Callop fight - head shakes and a few lunges....

    My biggest - 45cm and almost 2kg from Walker FlatHad a mate pull one at 54cm from just around the Corner too.... I still haven't seen the photo of it.... but when he called me he was more excited than when he called me to tell me about his first cod, so no doubt in my mind..... can't wait to see the photo!

    I don't lose many these days either. But under the bridge where I assume MBF is losing most of his, it would be on average 1 per trip.... But a lot of the time I get them back on a later trip!!!

    I have never forgotten anything major I can think of.... Before I go on any fishing trip I have a quick checklist.RodsLures/TackleBaitFoodWaterAt least that way I won't die, and I won't get bored. The rest isn't so important!!

    Was thinking the same thing. Maybe it is freshwater spilling into the ocean causing them to die??!?! Ha ha!!

    I just cut mine out of the head, and get off as much of the meat as I can easily and then dump them on an ant hill. Don't do it near the house though - put it down the back somewhere and just come back in a week or so...
