  1. Yeah there is a few yfw in the lake now worth a go mid morning on pooper flies or worm flies when the sun hits the water and you can sight fish for them its awesome!
  2. Nah it was in the port, but near the lake. I do know they are back in the lake though
  3. It could of been a mulloway cos I know theres a few around at the moment. Missed the hooks on a schoolie last night, I saw it take my lure, after seeing it grab a baitfish of the surface
  4. Dont bash the rods against anything like you would to a fibre glass rod, as graphite fractures easier than 'glass rods. Also when you are fighting and landing a fish dont high stick the rod, cos if a fish decided to make a run or flap around, all this sudden pressure will be near the tip, which is the weakest part.
  5. Dont even think about tasting them Rather eat a tommy thats been lying in the sun for 3 days!
  6. BigAl, the fish that ya mate reckons are strongies, are silver drummer, grat sportfish too1
  7. Strongie for sure, great fighters on light line, small ones are good on the tooth, but they taste better filleted, nice sweet flaky meat on the small ones, dunno about the big ones thogh.
  8. I reckon your on the right track there, broccoli boxes should work better, let us know if ya have any more problems.
  9. Cheers yep thats good, I reckon keep the worms in the bucket and just loosen up the seaweed each week and keep the lid off and just put wet newspaper on the top. The seaweed ya have in the bucket looks a lil old so it might be time to get some dry washed up seaweed and soak it in freshwater overnight and then put ya worms in that. Hope it helps
  10. Let us know if your having any problems with the worms, and we will try to find out what the problem is. Have ya got a pic of the bucket the worms are in? (one back at ya del!)
  11. I reckon maybe the rotten seaweed in the bottom is killing them, maybe time to get a fresh batch and once a week mix up the seaweed to let air in for the worms, and dampen the newspaper once a weeek as well.
  12. I had a container full of seaweed worms which lasted six months easily, best thing to do is keep them i na cool place and cover the seaweed in wet newspaper.
  13. I will second that great fighters on small lures and light gear!
  14. All fish have them mulloway have bigger ones than all other fish. Even garfish have them!
  15. Apparently it helps the mulloway sense the vibrations of the baitfish
  16. nah didnt find it whole somebody caught one and they left the head behind, so I thought may as well cut them jewels out
  17. I cut them outta of a mully head I found in the port the fish woulda have been 12/16 kilos
  18. If anybody is interested I can post up a pic of what they look like?
  19. Thats right. Still easy to get a feed though, some blokes got about 15 good blueys and a couple of sandies there the other night, and they were there for only an hour.
  20. A tip... semi has a few big blueys now Gotta head there after dark and preferably not on the weekend, give it a few hours cos it takes time for the crabs to get the scent of your bait. Big meaty blueys out, got a 54cm one the other night
  21. Best time to go is late at night nobody around and plenty of crabs around
  22. benny

    gulp

I used them at Edithburgh, and I still got fish on them, just use them as real gents, they work pretty good and they hold on the hook a bit better.
  23. I mainly get blueys in about 1.5 metres or deeper over a sandy bottom. I find the crabbing gets better in the dirty water as they get on the move and we generally get more of them than calm clear days. Also crabbing is better after dark, especially on low tide in the deeper waters.
