  2. Went for a drive on Goolwa Beach to the Mouth. Firm sand for the most. made to with in 1km of the mouth without letting down the tires. sand became to soft and i didnt want to fish by the time i was there. turned around and came home.
  3. Hugo has a Wilson 4120 2 piece spin beach rod with sand spike. $40. in the F/S slection. I am pretty sure del just bought a rod from him.
  4. Rod preference will come down to the individual, loading up in store wont. FYI - I'm a 6'4" 95-100kg fit bloke.This is what I use, and what each is for.Rodworks 6110 / Stradic 4000 with 20lb Power pro - Casting slugs and light bait fishing, like part pilchards. i can cast a 50g slug 120 meters.Wilson 4120 / 4500b Baitrunner with 30lb Power pro - Medium sized baits, like who pilchards and dead tommies. I can cast the baits around 60 meters.Rodworks 6120/ 6500b Baitrunner with 50lb Power pro - Live baiting or big dead baits. I can cast the baits around 50-60ms with this.For a gerenal rod I like

  9. There is not very often reports from down around the foot. How far out are you planning? What are your target species?Any lumpy bottom around the Seal & Haystack Island should produce the usual bottom suspects. Althorpe wuld also be worth a look. I don't have a boat, therefore i do not have any marks.Then if you want to go out een wider, bent hit it on the head, the pinnacles near wedge. Google the GPS marks.
  10. 2nd bar back from the head was forked on the opposite side. i remember this as i was able to show the divers, who must be a different species of human or oblivous to their surrondings when under the water.
  11. I think Tupong and Congolli are the same fish. Remember that there are heaps of species of Congolli/Tupong and it might pay just to email the SA Museum.

Travelled down the south east this weekend.SaturdayFished the little blue lake for 1 small redfin. fish were sitting very deep around 10m according to the divers.Fished Carpenters Rocks for Salmon to 1kg & lost an adagio. You had to hit the reef to catch anything.SundayFished Beachport. Heaps of ST's. In the afternoon the salmon pushed JUST inside the reef. Fish from 1 to 4kg. Small fish came from inside the reef. the Big girls came from the far side of the reef. Only caught 3 big ones, caight about 15 1kg's.Enough salmon action to keep me pumped for the Lincoln trip.

Thanks guys, I realise the Mulloway have all but moved on and I was mainly after some Salmon reports.The main focus for the drive was just to get the 4wd on the beach and see how she handles, play with some tyre pressures etc. Also to show the wife a little beach fishing, and allow her to get use to the feel of waders in a little more controlled environment. We have a trip to Lincoln (as people are probably aware) and i want her to feel comfortable on the beach. I want her to know the waders are for keeping dry and warm, not entering the water as deep as possible. Sorry if I seem a prude but I
