  15. when i was there recently, i found out that it was illegal to spear fish in the rapid bay area becase of the sea horses that are found there. had to settle for just snorkeling around looking at the strongies.
  16. i see the same two guys go down to outer harbour regularly when im down there, dont know how well they go though. ive speared there before, theres heaps of little fish. have seen some bigger ones just out of distance though.
  17. this aniseed oil seems like it will work, does any one think it will work with bream. ive found them extremely hard to catch some times and nothing will get them on the bite. also, for rays and sharks, would this stuff work, has any one tried it or had them come up their burley trails when targeting other fish?
  18. are u sure they only grow to the 80cm mark... my uncle lives in queensland and he caught a 6footer a week before we came up... may be a different sort like u were saying brooksey.. still sure there a shovel nose though? ive seen them over a meter at woolbay... either i was really drunk or it was over a meter.. a guy pulled 3 from the shallows by spot casting.
  19. this one was my smallest. wasnt a great eat though!! dont advise keeping them... still counts as a fidler if its a shovel nose dont it?
  20. ahh thats crazy as man! its sick when u can put a bait in front of em and watch em take it. i fished the rocks tonight. didnt get anythn but i missed a little run, was probably just a doggy though.
  21. yeh over niter would be sweet, especially some pitch black ray action! haha hows it go with just head lights? and casting a roller tip rod off the rocks would be a task wouldnt it?
  22. sweet as, ill have to pick up a few tips from u. even though theres so many around, i struggle hard with them. i can catch them any where but there. what rod n reel set up have you got going on? i use a 4/0 senator with a home of the fisherman custom rod. its about 15kg with 50 lb line.
