Ok seeing I’ve dusted this reel off and the weather is not great . Silly question years ago I had probably still have a shimano reel size 750. Are there any reels smaller than 1000 around . And I know there’s a size difference between Diawa and shimano the Laguna 1000 is tiny compared to my shimano sienna 1000.

I was actually thinking the amount of money I paid for the reel under $100 don’t recall exactly maybe $75 or less . Was it worth getting fixed if we factor in postage . Then I remembered the 1000 which is smaller than my shimano sienna 1000 I thought new braid might be the way to go . Now I looked at the Laguna 2500 bail arm and my exceller 2500 bail arm . No wonder the exceller cost me the same amount as the Samaki rod I’m using . Big differences Laguna 2500 casts further than the exceller but exceller is made with better parts it looks. Ok after my newest Diawa Laguna reel 2500 size had a malfunction with the bail arm to get it fixed . Need to mail it off is it worth it money wise . So I dusted off the same model from many years ago 1000 size so tiny got her spooled up with 5 lb braid this morning I had a dream before my TBI bigger fish on smaller lighter gear . See if I can do that now ! I’ve noticed again this size 1000 is smaller than shimano sienna 1000.

Knackers never painted a lure . But 12 or more years ago I was salt water fly fishing . Now I wasn’t a great fly tier but I found a design on a page . It used a product that was used in the building industry from hardware stores a bit better than foam . I’d tie that and whatever else on and had an idea I’d paint nail polish on the building product . It worked on these surface flies landing me legal bream they loved green nail polish colour from the cheap shop not sure it helps but I guess nail polish is enamel like

S factor works fine for me .if your unsure try whatever lure or plastic your using without it.then try the same lure with whichever scent you wish to use . see the difference

Wow DES . I have landed whiting on lures not many but sometimes they go off like marlin jumping around . Mullet believe it or not fight really well on lures mind you biggest I’ve got is around 20 cms in west lakes and Patawalonga. Now that picture of lures top right slightly darker base colour with same lines mullet love as do STs . Now I started after bait on salt water flies then hardbodies then plastics back to hardbodies . Now I’m not the greatest fly fisher gave that up what I noticed with bream in west lakes and I was wading on windy mornings choppy water they loved surface flies I’d tie

Ok I’ve bought a Samaki Zing generation 3 it’s not the 1-3 kilo when you convert from pounds to kilo I believe it’s 1-2 kilo only 6ft 10 but longer than the aird rod I’ve been favouring . So tomorrow I’ll give it a flick . It does feel really great . Guess seeing it’s my birthday this month an early birthday present

Ok I looked at 2 Samaki rods saw the zing one second but liked the 6ft 10 samaki can’t recall the name now but I liked the lightness

Ok I replaced the 2 DC lures I lost plus a colour I didn’t think I had . Also saw this one similar colour to the DC I lost to the big bream . So I bought this one as well anyone used these crank ones ?

Ok I can’t take a picture of what the Aird rod says model number 662LFS-DA 6’6”lure 2-8 kilos line 1-3 kilos That’s the type of new rod I’m after maybe a little taller at 7

I want a rod that says 1-3 kilos on it same as the Daiwa Arid I’ve had for 10-11 years stopped using it went to 2-4 kilos . I want a light weight rod that says on it 1-3 kilo they seem whipper than 2-4 kilo rods I own . hope that explains it I want to land bigger fish on a 1-3 kilo rod using light weights lines currently using diawa J8 braid with 4 lb fluorocarbon leader and it works great on the Daiwa aird 1-3 kilo rod

Thanks 2 are to heavy for my needs I have 2-4 kilo rods as well . I somehow like the 1-3 kilo arid rod . Once I’m ready I’ll have to check them out I never buy a rod without seeing it thanks again

Now I am using again my first lure flicking rod a Daiwa Arid 6ft 10 1-3 kilo rod works well . I’m told I’m getting a gift card for Xmas so I’ll use it and pay the rest I’m looking for a rod 7ft 1-3 kilo no heavier any ideas and not $600 worth either . I had a dream many years ago bigger fish on lighter gear . I was sold a rod near that but not as good as the old arid rod . Any clues guys

Ok I walked to both BCF and Anaconda. I looked at a savage blade at BCF liked the colour but the weight looked to heavy 6 or 8 grams from memory. Anaconda I looked at strike pro blades then TT blades bought a TT 1/8 looked smaller probably size I was looking for . The ones that were recommended above I’ll still look for those but I’m with out a car hopefully until some time in September .
