Oh Pufferfish...Spent 8 hours off St. Kilda today to receive a never ending battle invasion of Pufferfish. There was KGW around which liked to check the bait out however the Puffers would come over and smash it before the KGW had a chance too.So I think, no this doesnt necessarily mean that if they are around there is no other fish, however if they are around they will get to your bait quicker than any of your target fish.

Definitely no luck yet on my side, trying Onk, Westlakes and Coorong with nothing yet. Nearly got one drifting hard bodies in the Coorong. Was shattered after I lost him, I then seen a commercial fisherman pull up a net that had 2 mullies atleast 1m each Love the photo Jack

Great when you randomly bump into other members from the site to find out later on it was them.Great photos there, Outer Harbor hold some good fish, but man its hard on the body and fishing gear/tackle

Are you sure your not confusing the fish for a school mulloway?? 60cm is very possible and they have a yellowish colour on there fins. look completely different, however they are found throughout the lake, much more so than a 60cm bream.Just my 2c anyways.

Where have you fished before? What type of fishing do you do and what is your skill level? What do you want to catch? Are you interested in lots of little fish and plenty of action, or putting in lots of time for a chance of a legal fish but less smaller ones? What rod and reel do you have? No point buying an expensive rod and reel as it won't catch you any more fish if you don't know what you are doing. How far are you willign to travel? Are you willing to fish at night or in rough weather? There are many variables to consider before we can suggest some options.Learning to fish, westlakes is good as you will get plenty of bites and the occassional legal bream. Plenty of tommies off the metro jetties in the evening if you know how.One of the bigger species to catch will be salmon off port noarlunga jetty in winter during a storm but you will need to wait till at least autumn.Another tip I will give you is don't chase the rumors or reports and fish the same location for at least a dozen or two times. Any of the jetties will hold fish at the right time and although the learning curve is steep, plenty of good fish can be caught. You can bag on gar, tommies, YFW, and squid at the right time if you know what you are doing.Set your goals small at first. Tommies and squid are a good beginner target off the jetties and provide a good feed. Bream in westlakes are a good target to practice on.

Some great photos been uploaded, looks fantastic. My favourtie style of fishing would have to be broken down into three catagories but i would have to say, most would fall around the time just prior to sunset (around 7:00pm in the summer time) this just brings out the magic of nature in my opinion. 1. Kayak fishing - particularly with plastics on light gear, drifiting through the estauries is pretty briliant, with or without company. to me doing their is not many things out there that are this relaxing. Particularly lanucing the kayak from south road in the Onk and paddling upwards towards old noarlunga in search of the odd school mulloway is just a dream. 2. Them hard to reach rocky places -(outer harbor + rileys etc) whilst the travelling out can be a struggle and hard work.. with great company, good weather and a touch of luck ive had some of the best fishing experiences ever. 3. Charter fishing - getting away for the weekend with some close friends doesnt get much better if ya chuck a charter on the cards. Have done this for a number of birthdays with mates and all have been an absolute blast.Im sure if i have luck in the fresh water side of things soon, that will rate high on my list too, some of the places i have been trying at are incredibly beautiful looking.
