Depending on what your targeting, but if you are chasing bottom fish substitute tuna oil and aniseed oil with ( this May sound crazy ) but FISH SAUCEthis doesn't float ! So if your targeting snapper the fish sauce stays at the bottom and drifts along instead of just floating to the surface ? I was shown this trick bout three year ago and it made a substantial difference to my catches

Hi crab welcome to the site. If your after the big blue swimmers without a boat in pt augusta head over to the shacks and go raking for em at low tide . There are heaps of around at the moment , and be sure to take a saddle cause they're all horses!! . I went a month ago out the front of my shack and caught 30 monsters in just over an hour. If your working at the power house you can see the shacks on the other side of the gulf. They're only a ten minute drive from pa town centre.

Port augusta shacks for some big big blue swimmers and some YFW ...maybe even a kingy seeing as they're still being caught

That's the ones orange bass days. Went again today to same spot and a big fat donut! Didn't even lose a bait. Only fish I saw was the flounder I stood on... Lol scared the crap out of me. I reckon I walked a km of the beach and didn't see anything. NO LUCK lures or bait.. Still nice being out there though

I'm sold guys! I hit Tennyson this morning at bottom of tide at 1030 , there were two massive schools of them cruising up and down the sand bars. I used the bassday orange and first cast they swarmed all around it and followed the lure all the way in! Second cast went straight overs the top and out the back of the school , jigging it through the school they went into a frenzy and smashed it ! This was the most fun ive had YFW fishing in years ! Hey archer I think that's a great idea. I went a bought some coorong mullet two weeks ago and smoked them for a nice little snack. I looked around in the shop to see what was the cheapest fish I could get . Obviously it was the mullet @ $25 kg , Tommie's were $28. I nearly filled my pants with astonishment. It's no wonder my freezer is full f my own catch!

Yeah went again this Arvo on incoming and caught a dozen big mullet and a donut on the YFW kbnrs. Still had a ball , beautiful weather and the girl loved it ! She caught 9 of em . She hasn't shut up about it

So I got in yesterday Arvo from bush seeing the weather was delightful thought id take the 1 min stroll down to the beach at Henley south and wet a Line for shicks and giggles . Good to see the weed has finally lifted from the shore ! and to my supriselanded myself four little ( and I mean little ) flatties and 3 big fat YFW all 41-42 cm . Is anyone else starting to target these bad boys metro? If so post some reports guys!! All caught on bungums. Tight lines

Hi allJust after some help planning my first elusive westlakes mully, I'm not after anyone's secret x marks the spot or anything like that just a nudge in the right direction. Where would I be better trying for my elusive mully ? I've had a couple of cracks at the trimmer parade inlet end for some donuts ! Am I better heading down to the bower road end or fishing near the boulevard bridges or just trying the trimmer parade inlet bream spot ? Any help would be greatly appreciated as I'm mad keen to add this to the photo collection? Thanks again guys ....Tight lines

Hi all,After some advice/ opinions. So today the girl comes home and says she wants to have a chat.! WTF now goes through my head.. To my surprise I'm told that she thinks its a great idea for me to buy a boat. Seeing as I love my fishing and its a pain in the ..... To go to port augusta to use the old mans anytime I want to have a serious fish on the water. I've been tentatively looking for the past two months and showing her photos from boatpoint /boat sales. She's either sick of looking at them and has given in or she just thinks I'm a top bloke that deserves my boat LOL... I have a budget

Thanks a heap des.! I'm on long service leave and was thinking about doing some lb fishing Tuesday , u got me all fired up to go and target my fav fish now. I'm restricted to metro though as my car has crapped itself and being repaired any little hints or is it worth heading out to port gawler and rope in a mate

YFW are available all year round up north, but here in metro is a different dilemma . Bring on the warm summer days catching YFW on a local beach. My old man got 7 yesterday in port augusta at the front door of the shack on incoming tide. I gave him some bloodworms as he's never fished with them. Got a call this morning " gott any more of those BLOODWoRMS ?" Apparently he's in love with them ! LOL I think I've converted him.

So when can I expect to start seeing them in the lake

Hi guys So I've been doing a little fishing at westlakes of late. I've had three separate random chats with fisherman and one guy that was just going for a walk. All 3 have said in sep oct for last 3-4 years that kgw appear at the trimmer parade end (obviously coming through pipes) and that they are thick as thieves when they appear . Can anyone confirm these talks, I couldn't see why this wouldn't happen but just wondering if anyone has caught them .

I'm at Henley so for me I fish Tennyson for fave land based target YFW but being winter not many around caught a couple of undersized sand whiting last week from Henley jetty
