Your lucky ale i suck at finding descent fish any time of year

Hi all i have just bought a brand new Alvey rod for my Alvey 700c5 it is 12 feet and the balance point is in the middle of the top hand grip with reel attached ,fairly wippy tip we loaded it up at the shop with millsy and it handled it well with good curve and strong bottom section ,should be a good combo at a good price .

Well just picked up my brand new alvey rod ,good looking unit and it will suit my 700c surf champion well ,probably going to need some practice to cast this beast correctly but shouldnt take long to master ,have read most of the posts on here watched a video on some guy trying to bury his spinning real, because he was so ashamed of it but got caught by the camera crew ,and been told these alveys cant cast very well . and to finish of all the posters who said how good they are have been called old women ."WHAT" anyone would think that alveys dont have a reputation for there magnificent castin

Fishing wholesalers have got some combos on special at the moment around 70 bills ,they say they are less than half price now ,saw them the other day not a bad looking setup quality runners ect not in the market myself so didnt pay to much attention but if you live down that way might pay to check em out .

Well i tell ya i never even thought they would be down here,they are a regular bait in f.n.q for a variety of fish and really easy to get at low tide on the mud flats ,well you learn something new every day better check that bait pump ,probably rotted away .

I have had a bait pump in my shed for 16 years as i didnt even think they had them here ,i used to pump these things when i was up in townsville on the flats .

I tell ya what 4 tha even though there small i rekon they could still give a nasty bite ,did it just snap at the join ?

Good post caterpiller ,the dinosors are extinct and as times change so will attitudes ,i think its great to have the female gender involved in this activity ,my sister was a early fisherwoman when she was with an avid fisherman ,i had to struggle to get my rods back when i got out of the army from her ,some people just wont listen when you tell them that they are doing wrong they just dont care as most are 2 x a year fishermen ,why you would want to keep a female crab with roe is beyond me keep up the good work stay safe.

Mate i dont think it is a cop out or a load of crap ,these fish spawn during the months around when the ban is on ,if you remember uhf put up a video of himself catching a descent snapper before the ban was in place ,you have 11 months of the year to target this species ,1 month out of 12 is a small price to pay for the survival and health of a fish species ,if we didnt have a ban on catching them at this time of the year do you think you would have been able to pull those crackers you did last year in the port ,personnaly id support a 3 month ban on the taking of these fish at this time of th

I think there was a case maybe two years ago where a pro snapper fisherman was taking fish during the ban from a ship in a tinnie to shore to a waiting car he got busted ,the ban has to be there for a reason nan maybe the pros do rape pillage and plunder but we all have to play are part in conservation of this fish species ,i mean cmon mate it is one month big deal,some people carry on as if it has been 10 years i dont understand it.

If your not sure id take the abu to a shop that does repairs and sells abu ,the alvey is easy as like softy said fill with line a quick rinse and away you go ,drop the alvey in a bucket of water a few turns and youll be right tough as nails those reels and australian made

this is not uncommon at sullies ,i have seen fish frames and undersized snapper when i have been launching my boat ,these people will never be caught as they are probably the once evry 6 month fisherman ,they obviously dont give a stuff about the rules and if they are ever caught all there fishing gear should be confiscated boats and cars ,you do that in queensland with female mudcarbs and see what happens youll be walking home working out how the f :c you are going to pay the fine ,you have every right to be mad mate i know i am, as i have said before if i ever see anyone doing this i will re

Hahahaha no we just refitted them i hope they have fixed the roof above where retravision used to be ,the aircon was just about to go through it was that rusted out.

Hi guys thanks for the advice and offers of help ,done a bit of research on utube watching how the blokes on the east coast do it ,sneaky little suckers looks like they have a nasty set of teeth as well ,got me worming pliers yesterday now all i have to do is get me stinky sorted ,bought a bag of onions the other day only to find out the bag was half sticker half bag ,oh well never mind check the bag better next time .
