Tyke 0
I'm not really a river fisherman so wondered if anyone can give me some general advice.Looks like there will be a few Poms / new arrivals from my forum coming along - but they are asking what bait / rigs and tackle to bring??Could anyone give me a simple list to post up??Most of these guys have never dropped a line in Australian water. Thanks in advance:) :)

reelin 2
Hi Tyke, Ive always had luck with prawns on a single shiner hook size 4-2 with a small running sinker and a light leader. Also have had luck on squid on ganged size 1 octopus circles, Bloodworms are also good on either wormholders or suicide hooks!
krustykrab 0
fresh pilchards(frozen) are great bait for both bream and mullowaysmall piece of pilchard flesh for bream( the skin will help it hold on the hook) , size 2-4 hook, very small running sinker.....light gear is best.whole pilchard for the mulloway on 2 hooks 2/0 -4/0.........probably 20lb line min .....same as bream mulloway dont like to feel alot of resistance when they take the bait or they will drop it.....very light drag. Softy 2,991
Would it be a waste of time using lures on the day?Sitting around waiting for hits on bait is kinda boring...
