C85 0
Gents,Have just bought some flurocarbon leader and I'm having trouble tying it to the braid on my reel. The knots I have been using dont seem to hold it (keeps sliding). Any suggestions on which knot to use? Have been searching youtube but cant find anything that works.Apologies if there are other threads on this. (I tried the search function)Cheers:)

projoe 261
I've used the 5 turn surgeons knot for the last 3 years does every thing i'd expect of a good knot.tied properly it is a strong knot, quick to tie & flows thru the rod guides very easily, If you can get a look at the berkley soft plastic DVD that came out 5 years ago adam royter featuring in it he shows you how to tie some knots including the 5 turn surgeons knot. Peelin 0
Double Grinner for me, have snapped 10lb leader with 6lb braid a number of times (is it just me or does all braid go double its breaking strength under slow steady preasure?) and the knot held nicely

Borryking 6
Bimini to improved albright. Haven't broken one yet. 40lb leader always breaks before the 30lb braid.
C85 0
Thanks for the responses guys. Some handy websites there too. Will give them a try this week.cheers
thefunkychicken 0
An Albright can sometimes leave the stiff tail of the mono poking out at an angle at which it will foul on your guides while casting.I have had hassle-free casting with Double Uni knots. Just remember to do a few extra rounds with the braid - ie: 3 or 4 winds on the mono and 6 or 8 on the braid.Cheers.
