fire line braid

hi guys, i have loaded up my whiting outfits with 8lb berkley fireline braid, bright yellow colour, have used them 3 times only now braid has faded to almost white,is this an indication that the line is now buggered or is this normal with braid. the reels were washed in fresh water use and stored in shed.thanks ror any advice as this my first time using braid. Cheers all.

My 6lb fireline on my Luvias did the same thing.I too washed it and stored it correctly.I have caught many fish on it after it has faded and havent noticed any real decrease in the Breaking strain.So I think you will get atleast a year or even more out of it.I like to change my braid or mono ever 1 or two seasons anyway though :) :)

howdy,a little colour fading on the braid is fine mate,no harm done whatsoever,normal.

thats a normal thing mate nothing to worry aboutmine did the same thing but it needs to be changed now ive had it for a while and slowly starting to fray in some parts. keep smiling mate its alright :laugh:

yep absolutely nothing too worry about i run fireline on every reel i use and every colour does the same thing no effect on the line itself just defeats the purpose of hi vise :laugh: MM

I've run Rovex braids for many years and as the colour is just a dye they put in it will always fade with use

agrred... i use rovex aswell and the dye has faded on it but still good strength there...
