brenton 637
There is so much good stuff on the market that the world is your oyster,I like the Rapala Tspec,Samaki have some good stuff and the Daiwa black label are pearlers as well.Match one of these with a Shimano ci4 or a Daiwa Caldia depending on balance and personal tastes and your away.Saying all that i fish Placcies and Hbs very differently so i prefer a combo for each styleI'd be picking out a few combos and getting your mate to make the final choice as its different strokes for different blokes. cheers brenton 4THALOVE and Landbased_Angler

Was thinking a ci4 straddy 1000 on a new Aussie loomis n seeing how that balanced.I wouldn't go the 1000 myself, the 2500 are so light that they match up well with light rods and line comes off the spool a little better with the 2500 when casting. cheers brenton Landbased_Angler
