FushLups 0
Any tackle shops down south? :-\ WB?
coight 0
Worst line i have ever used! hope you like air knots and random snap off's in the line for no apparent reason.used it in a bream comp, big mistake! first cast of the day "snap!" confused i retied it and again "snap!" meanwhile my partner was catching fish... Coulden't be the line could it??? third times a charm.. SNAP!So i spat the j.p. dumminy, got another rod out.Having said that Stiff whan likes it in 15lb and hasn't had any problems. In my humble oppinion, i dont mind fireline crystal 3lb, strong casts a mile and havnt had an air knot yet. saltiga surf 15lb for heavy nasty structure. shauno 5
check ya runners coight, heard of similar happening with people on other lines, cursing the line, when i asked them to bring there problem outfit in, everytime we would find a hairline crack in the alconite or silicon, or a small chip in the hardolloy. In the sunline range there are two differnt types of braid dyneema and HG Dyneema. The super PE- vivid green colour and now available in white (150 or 300m spools)is a standrd type PE, i think from memory its a 4 strand construction (dyneema).it is a nice braid and I use it on all of my baitcasters in the 20, 30 and 40lb breaking strains.lots of my fishing buddies use it for breaming in the 6 and 8lb breaking strains. Taking into account the cost its awesome. Keep in mind too this stuff will outlast fireline 3 to 1.Now the best stuff is Castaway or rock fish PE.They are both high grade dyneemas, with an 8 strand.braid constriction. This means a much finer diameter can be achieved for the same breaking strain. Like Jewaaa said 10lb in the castaway or Rock Fish P.E is the same daimeter as 6lb super PE. It is also a much tighter weaved braid.Silky smooth and very nice to cast.Keep in mind high grade dyneema should be looked after at least with a rinse, and if possible a quick spray with a silicon based spray. I've just started trialling armorald. I'll let you know how it goes. The top end japanese PE sprays can be expensive so lets hope armorald does the same job. By the way it increases life by protecting the dyneema from UV damage and can increase casting distance. Here is the link to EJ Todds website, most if not all stores in SA have access to it if they want to at least order it in for guys...super PE: http://www.ejtodd.com.au/catalogue/commerce.cgi?cart_id=1240745559.22721&product=SUNLINE!BRAID&pid=2036&log_pid=yesCastaway: http://www.ejtodd.com.au/catalogue/commerce.cgi?cart_id=1240745559.22721&product=SUNLINE!BRAID&pid=1917&log_pid=yesRoxk Fish PE: http://www.ejtodd.com.au/catalogue/commerce.cgi?cart_id=1240745559.22721&product=SUNLINE!BRAID&pid=2087&log_pid=yes [file name=AlNSE1jT__super150.bmp size=350154]http://www.fishyorkepeninsula.com/images/attachments/AlNSE1jT__super150.bmp[/file] http://www.fishyorkepeninsula.com/images/attachments/m0bzrXe5__castaway.gif[/img] http://www.fishyorkepeninsula.com/images/attachments/c6Xeh7JB__rockfishpe.jpg[/img]
Guest big lizard
Yeah castaway i had it great for bream and gives you probably 10% more casting distance, i still rate T.D sensor over it, I had a spool of 6lb T.D last me a year caught heaps of fish never a problem it lost colour yes but not strength... jagger 24
Guys I recently did some homework on new line for the breamstick and walked away with Super PE 300m spool for $70 and a very happy customer. I compared all things fine in line and cost and this was the stand out winner for quality/value in my opinion.I have only had the chance to use it for a few session but I am wrapped with the quality. Great distance and feel, ties well and best of all NOT ONE wind knot !! not bad for a thousand or so casts probably. All other lines I have used, I have had wind knots in the first session (all the same reel).I know of a place semi-southern that stocks, but not a sponsor. If you would like more details, send IM.Will certain be looking at rockfish PE if it's that good for the next reel.

shauno 5
@LLhad a quick look at the link, and that CRC product looks the goods, I think as long as it is designed to be applied to plastics you'll be fine..Great to hear some positive experiences with sunline. I offer a slightly biased opinion, but hey if the stuff is good, use it, right?CheersShauno
