  1. Doobie PM sent on my GroPro Hero 3+ Used 2 or 3 times
  2. So the recipe turned out good ? I am going to take 1 of my smaller boats and go raking for a change on Sunday at a spot I pointed out to Underpants
  3. Was really good to take Simon and his young boy (1st trip on a boat) Great people but tide and wind were against us so the results were disappointing but we gave it a go and they took home the crabs all cooked ready for the spicy recipe I put up. I and Joy do not have children so I felt very happy that the young lad had a good time for his first time on a boat and was not scared at all. Good start to for a 4 1/2 year old, well done dad as he will want to go out more instead of tv and PlayStation and other computer games. Cheers
  4. Why not travel over to James Well or Pine Point and do some racking (locals doing well) It would be fun 4 you both and an adventure IMO and you will do well. Got some custom crab boats you can borrow.
  5. I think I did get my Old Bay seasoning from Costco. There is Giganis the "big blue" building on South Road Mile End, that may have it also.
  6. So true but there was little "mess" as I had already boiled my crabs and copped them through the top (in half) and cracked the craws. The only difference was adding sugar and more fresh chillies and spring onions. But no joke the sweet spicy flavour was to die for. Normally I will eat 2 crabs ....... BUT I did 4 with this recipe and still wanted more. Might do another batch tonight. Yum, Yum
  7. Try it guys and add what I did. Just amazing really
  8. Just cooking and tasting as you go or do - added some sugar and spring onion in the mix. much better. cheers
  9. Now the crabs are here I thought I might experience some varied ideas We got our bag limit in quick time and am going to try again on Thursday and try other ways of cooking them. Came across this and will try tonight. “So, who serves the best crabs?” That’s one of the most frequent questions people from Maryland get from non-Marylanders, right up there with “Ray Lewis killed a guy” (not actually a question) and “Have you ever seen The Wire?” (yes, here’s my HBO Go login, please go away). And though I’ve committed the names of a few famous seafood houses to
  10. Great descriptive post with great photos to compliment your adventure. Well done. That is what we all want to see Just hope my trip next month is as good. Thanks for sharing.
  11. As above. Bloody fantastic report Great photos that speak for themselves This is (posts and photos) we all need to do to make the site #1 IMO. Cheers
  12. Mate, you have me on your next trip. I told the boss about our phone call the other day and she loved the idea on your next return trip back. So we are in mate.
  13. Top bait especially when used as a cocktail, cockle squid and worm as Hoopsy knows = Winner
  14. Yep agree, a very nice looking place. I wish Panga was my best mate now Do not judge people by what they have. I just want to enjoy the site and have events at the shack for all responsible people. Would like to arrange an event, come the warmer months for an event (admin approval) for crabbing and a gar dabbing night. I have accommodation for 15 (sleeping together, 5 b/rooms - 4 queens and a family bunk room for 5 and large lounges. Softy knows the place. (hi mate) Really would like to arrange an event if management agree. Cheers. Lindsay.
  15. Good luck, looks like you may score some sweet weather...for a change....may even hold to the weekend . Usually a windy part of the world down there. Hate to be the 'Kill Joy' but Coorong National Park = no doggies . Oh oh .......... No Dogs That is not good will have to see what I can do, bummer. Dam greenies.
  16. Looks like I am going Salmon fishing with Wilda (Craig) Had a talk 2 weeks ago and have just spoken to him today ......... so.. I am planning a trip this Wednesday and taking Sonar (of course) and heading to Salt Creek to chase the salmon under his guidance. Hope all goes well Will put up photos and storey (fisherman's lies, no lies here) Will need to be back on Friday so I am ready for the "bloodworm run" Saturday. All about the journey and having fun with others on the way IMO. Cheers Lindsay
  17. Panga

    Crab cooker

Correct Chief Love the mustard. This is where Hoopsy and I disagree (with respect to both) So when we crab together we have to spit the catch and process his way but I usually end up with the shells and "guts" for burley , to be frozen then run through the MUNCHER for KGW at a later date. All good at the end of the day. Respect both ways, just a lot of banter
  18. Wish I could swap a couple of Salmon fishing trips for crabbing / Snapper/whiting / tommies and dabbing gar at night trips on Yorks as I know jack really about salmon fishing but want to learn. Have the boats to do the above and the accommodation at the shack too. Cheers
  19. I use a varied type of oils pending what I cook ...... but I love cooking with Grape Seed oil - clean as. I have also purchased a "Fry - Air" Amazing, no oil and quick and juicy meals. Potato chips turn out perfect and no oil required. Comes with all you need to do kebabs including s/s skewers and cradle in the rotisserie. Love it but still like some meals cooked in oil (grape seed preferred) But will try the Rice bran. Cheers
  20. Just a follow up as I said I would put up a post win, loose or whatever. Well it was whatever. Got 8 squid but no KG's. That's fishing but on the positive side, great to on the salty H20 with Darren and his 2 sons and of course Sonar. Did not take any fish pics of the squid or the crabs we caught on the rods. SONAR hiding from the cold The sun came out and so did Sonar in his Parker. (toughen up princess) Got some plans in place along with the worm run and with lots more photos. Cheers
  21. Going out tomorrow from James Well. Launching from Ards. Got a good friend taking her 730 BC and my boat now I have serviced the trailer with new bearings and springs at Coast Road Motors (Ardrossan) so all good. On my boat will be Mangrove Jack and his 2 boys. First up will target squid near Ards then KG's further south. So will post some pics and story soon, win loose / draw. Cheers, Lindsay
  22. I mulch all prawn, crab, lobster, oyster and cockle shells mixed with pellets. Works for me. We got 1st, 2nd and equal 3rd on the Police Variety Comp at Pt Hughes this year and bagged out a week later at Pt Vic in 1/2 an hour. Largest fish 500mm (most double headers) Cheers Sounds like you know where to find the whiting , whats your secret ? Agreed, that's an amazing result 1st 2nd & equal 3rd that burley must really be potent stuff or you must really know your way around over there.Well done. I know jack about fishing the "dark side" (sun comes up later and tv stations are diffe
  23. Largest fish 500mm (most double headers) Cheers
  24. Spicy tomato and garlic. Italian style and they were the packaged cockles from the Pipi company. Nice and clean, would be top bate too but expensive if you do not catch.
  25. Did a quick dish of cockles with squid and pasta (toooo much I think but nice) All left overs will get recycled through the muncher as berley. Cheers
