  1. Its best if you just go into a tacklestore for advice if you can. Staff in tacklestores hate doing buisness over the phone. Its much easier if you go into a store and they can run through products with you.
  2. :icon_lol: sorry cant agree with that.. things like sensitvity & feel through your rod and reel play a massive part in catching more fish. high quality equiptment definatly is alot more comfy and nicer to use.. small things such as increased casting distance, accuracy and drag pressure will aid in catching more and better fish, not to mention that once of fish of a lifetime.. even things like high quality line will help increase your catch ..you dont have to spend a million dollars to get good peformance.. if you can save around $200 you will get a good quality graphite rod with a quality
  3. ??? ??? ??? ???Tyrnos is a higher spec reel than a TLD.. Metal body, better drag and no slop or back play in the gearing. Still has 4 bearings like the TLD but slightly higher gear ratio's.. shimano designed these reels to bridge the gap in ther range between the tld and tiagra.
  4. Go a shimano tyrnos, nice reels way better value and you have a choice of single or two speed.. I would go with 15kg line easier to work with, get more line on your reel, easier to float your baits out + sounds better when tell people about the massive shark you caught on 15kg tackle :icon_e_biggrin: :icon_e_biggrin:
  5. Both rods are good.. Found the tierra to have quite a long butt section wich made it less manageable when working lures.. The shorter split butt style on the starlo stick made it easier to manoeuvre & flick really small light lures. Would love to have hard eve grips on the starlo stick instead of cork. found the graphite of the starlo stick to be a bit more crisp & have a little more feel..Seald some cork grips with speed filler and sealer once. It soaked into the cork sealed it up good and made the cork nice and firm. BUT once you got fish slime on your hands the cork goes slipery as.

  7. I have seen these at the tackle show in QLD.. They are strong/tuff but just way to ruff gears.. nowhere near the sleekness an style of the saltiga's + there is alot more models of saltiga to choose from. also aftermarket daiwa and other brand accesories are avaliable to customize your reel drag washers, spools, handles etc...
  8. Hands down the saltiga is better... Both are exelent reels but the proof is in the pudding.. i own 1 stella and now have 3 saltiga's. They are the ducks nuts...
  9. :icon_eek: :icon_eek: Sideshow, every comment u post contradicts your last.. u need to think long a hard about your comments before posting them.. spinning bullshit is a quick way to create foe's and this site is for creating friends..
  10. The maximum drag on your reel does not increase when you upgrade to 130lb line from 30lb. If your max drag is 15kg then the breaking strain of the line makes no difference! So it would not be a skull drag...
  11. try these, stronger cheaper, & easier to use.... http://www.fishyorkepeninsula.com/images/attachments/BAVDaLoX__DSCN0626.JPG[/img] http://www.fishyorkepeninsula.com/images/attachments/tqJxn7K8__DSCN0630.JPG[/img]
  12. I reckon the outgoing is better for the bigger fish..

  14. definatly mate.. they r the best for trout fishing.. for rainbows ther the best... when they do ther little body rolls and launch out the water that light tip stays loaded & keeps the line tight an the hooks attached.. preventing the hooks from bein thrown.. havnt caught snook on myn but id say its the same sort of thing with the trout.. snook can shake hooks easy lyk trout an the light tip will keep u connected... an they r dfntly good fun on the redfin... .fish. .fishswim.
  15. hey matty.. yeah i own an use both models of these rods.... use both for bream spinning with luvius 2000's spool with 4lb nitlon braid.... i hav owned an used alot of light spin sticks but i think ill stop at these... having so much fun useing these sticks... it is very deceptive how much power these light tip rods hav... having caught school mullies on mine to.. awsum hook up rate as well beause of the light tip being able to load up with out the fish feeling it.. iam finding it impossible to pop leaders aswell because of the amount of giv in the rod & iam using as light as 3lb leader...
  16. hey shaneo... i own an use both a luvius2000 an twinpower 1000... both are brilliant reels and hav caught me some excellent fish... even pulled in a 100cm mullie on the lil twinpower 1000 wile casting lures for bream.... but defntly go the daiwa luvius.. such a beautiful reel to use smooth, sleek an ulta light... one thing i found with the twinpower was it tended to bounce & bobble a bit on retrieve... i also own an use much higher class reels such as certate an stella 2500's but find the luvius 2000 much nicer and perfect size to use casting lures for bream due to is ultra lightness... ho
  17. wrong!!!! yep lee has been givin it 2 rex hunts daughter.... as he has been with her for years & is now happly married to her.... pauls wife kristy isnt even related to rexy... so i dont how u came up with that story..... some times things in buisness dont work out...... lee & rex wanna open a new tackle store near paul's & he doesnt want them to......

  19. oh okay... he shuld jus paint it bright pink with green poka dots...
  20. For the price point your lookin at i would recomend a DAIWA SALTIST...1 piece aluminium frame & side plates, infantie reverse, 4 corrosion resistant ball bearings CRBB, machined aluminium spool, digi gear, and comes in 4 sizes to suit th line class u wanna fish 20,30.40,50. plus a 5 year warranty... best thing about these reels ther not jus limited to snapper fishing ther very versitile. plenty of drag pressure to tackle big kingies, mullies etc... chuck it on a jig rod an jig up sum sambos... or wack it on a surf rod an lob a bait out...or go troll up sum tuna..... for the price u cant g
  21. ranger... any pics available of this new colour...also do you hav any info on who developed this new colour... i heard it was one of our reglar bream comp compeditors..
  22. I paint & colour my lures all the time especially when fishing for trout…. Adding the good old spotted dog pattern ….. Never had any problems with smell… seem to catch more fish.. Once the paint or nail polish is set the odour is gone…. I have even repaired hard bodies with hairline cracks from being cast against structure with clear nail polish… although the sister thinks its strange when her nail polish goes missing ???, ill do anything to catch a fish .. If you’re still worried about odour from the p
