  1. Greg Irving is the best in the business when it comes to writing reports, he's also a top gentleman willing to talk the talk. He's not going to tell you bullshitThe trouble with reports is that they are given after the event and you can't catch the same fish twice If you want accurate fishing reports listen to Paul Lehmann from Bitewell Tackle down at the Bay on the ABC Radio at about 6.20 am every saturday morning. Paul will give the latest and accurate news of where the fish are biting from the past few days and he gets his reports from fishos like us that have got out there and caught t
  2. I heard there's some bonito mixed in with the SBT schools that are passing through at the moment. I've caught bonito before but my first preference apart from yellowfin would be southern or northern bluefin tuna
  3. The winds will be coming from the Northwest along the metro coast... that's where our worst seas come from.. close set steep waves like a washing machine
  4. The majority of big fish come from fishing around the pens up in Fitzgerald Bay Get as close to them as legally possible and berley back into them (I've never fished there myself but my mate reckons it's a killer spot for biggies)
  5. I heard that they are made of steel and rust out in your tackle box. Interesting concept about lead polluting the environment... isn't lead a natural compound that is mined from the earth. Everything within a radius of a lead mine must be completely dead from lead poisoning :S
  6. Bumping back to top againWho's entered? I have, it's my first competition.. I'm happy just to donate the 20 bucks to Prostate Cancer research even if the weather turns bad and we can't compete.I'm guessing the target species will be king george whiting but I guess it could be anything
  7. Maralinga? Nice shot's.. well worth the chase
  8. There could also be a pic of a 30 pound snapper caught locally out from O'Sullies
  9. That's how I was taught to fish down the Onk for the jumpers using a rangoon cane and a quill float with my old man and some of his old mates :)We also used the rangoons to pole for garfish

  14. Striped trumpeter, flathead deep fried in golden beer batter and spotted mackeral... in that order

  17. Howdy fella's...During weekends on both saturday and sunday mornings there's a great fishing show on 2SM called "Hi-Tide"I record it on my iphone and listen to it during the day as it starts at about 3.30 am our time and runs for about 3 hours... it's based in Sydney and is very informative about what is happening up and down the East Coast.http://www.2sm.com.au/hitide.htmlThis weekend they were talking about this particular subject and also the spending on many artificial reefs (the NSW Govt is actually asking local communities to put in applications requesting artificial reefs in their local
  18. It's a grab for votes... there's an election up there next week
  19. Here's a decent video on Youtube of the Saurianhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TcPmLNBaDgc
  20. That's what I like about this site.... you are allowed to voice your opinion knowing that the powers that be (namely PIRSA) will show an interest in our anecdotal evidence and actively take on board our comments.Nanman, you'd be surprised at the amount of fishos that launch from wirrina and fish between Jervis and Aldinga. A lot of retirees have decamped from Adelaide and moved southwards.. the south coast gets hammered everyday...the old days of everyone working 5 days a week is long goneI have retiree fisho mates that live at Carrickalinga and Normanville...I'm sure they'll have a chuckle a
  21. AFF, if a further reduction in the kgw bag limit is required then we seriously need to support it as long as a quota was implemented towards the Pros. You have to remember our local snapper stocks only increased to a healthy position up to two years ago by us reccos having a bag limit reduction but then unfortunately this made way for a "killing spree" by some Pro fishos
