  1. As has been said young fella, you have to live and breathe fishing for awhile and then try and put all you have learned into practice over the next 12 months.Carp fishing is a good place to start as you can burley up an area and just wait for them to come along, this will help with getting your drag setting and knot tying up to scratch as they can test you out a bit. Then you can proceed to other species,i'd pick one then target them specifically until you get them consistantly then move on to others. The best tip i could give you is to use berley and if nothing happens after 1 hour move and try
  2. Hi Kosams and welcome to S&H.there are still ropes under them bridges so maybe they still get a few anchovies under there at times. cheers brenton

  4. Not me Cal but i did lash out on one of the 7.2 raiders a little while ago and have christened it with my H/B pb etc love it for the money $90 at another sportfishing store.I did end up getting the Daiwa Coastal for the Hb mully thing and for $100 i love that as well.I must say that some of the off the shelf rods are brilliant for the money,no doubt not all agree but with 3 teeenages and a house to pay for i,m getting good value for money i reckon. cheers brenton

  11. Only worth doing out of the boat or yak i reckon as you can get a plastic on the bottom from the shore. cheers brenton
  12. Good stuff guys,so going on that i,d always use suspenders in W/Ls as there are very few snags etc, unless i was fishing the shallow edges cheers brenton
  13. yeah i do.... but there seems to be a heap of floaters out there if suspenders are better, the only advantage i can think of with a floater is when its shallow or rocky and you can float over potential snags. As i said though i pretty new to all this.. cheers brenton
  14. I know this topic may have been done before but since i,m getting into the lures a bit more i was wondering what your thoughts on floating vs suspending lures and i suppose sinkers are in there as wellToo me suspending seem alot more natural but i noticed that most of the bream lures are floaters, this would mean that any time you stalled your retrieve the lure would start to float back to the surface...is this a trigger for the bream to have a go or do most who use the floaters just keep up a steady retrieve with twitches etc so whether the lure is a floater or suspender doesn,t make any diff
