  1. Nice video Jimbo. Looks like you had a good ST session :woohoo: Only been in the Port river once with the tinny and fished that same spot for similar results, I was hoping to pull a Bream from the pylons, had no luck but the STs are always good fun. :) Banga looks like he might go a bit over the 120lbs mark  :laugh:

  2. Nice work Gimbles on the STs and for getting your kids onto them  The STs getting bigger slowly :woohoo:

Why are you surprised your car didn't get broken into...... Has it happened before?
Good question' date=' cos I was unsure that it was dodge around there. that's my number one launch pad' date=' so if you know something I don't, then thank goodness it hasn't happened to me :ohmy:quote'']I left a spot near the boat ramp a couple of weekends ago, about 9.30am, and noticed a green 4WD with boat trailer had had one of it's windows pulled out. Not a nice way to return to the boat ramp after fishing  There are a few feral :c about!
  3. I have had a couple of magic sessions on the jetty at Venus Bay, Trevally, Salmon and XL Tommies, early morning worked best for us. :) Sat outside the tent in the caravan park one arvo :d/:d/ watching a guy in his Tinny landing whiting after whiting  not very far out at all. ;) It's a beautiful place.

  4. I stopped fishing off metro jetties years ago because I got fed up with the crowds, all the nets/lines and the mess that usually gets left behind. I tend only to fish off the rocks (lots of choice) around North Haven when fishing land based.

  5. Session 1: I had a quick flick for Bream before work last week, but only managed a few of these.Posted ImageI had my only Wriggler biten in half, didn't even feel the bite.:blush:Posted ImageSomeone else likes to fish in comfort from these rocks. Posted ImageSession 2: I spent 2hrs walking the rocks last weekend flicking soft plastics and had no bites but managed to catch my strangest SP catch to date. :silly: :laugh:Posted ImageChanged tactics when I was coming back off the rocks and Gar rescued me from a fishing doughnut. :woohoo: Posted ImageSession 3: Took the Tinny out in search of a few crabs on a beautiful morning.Posted ImageCaught a few crabs ;) , and some other creatures. Posted ImageBiggest crab to date, 61cms. :woohoo: Posted ImageSingapore Chilly crabs. :)Posted ImageButter fried Scallop to feed the family.:laugh::laugh::laugh:Posted ImageCheers.
  6. My job for Xmas lunch is to provide the seafood, so when I read this topic yeterday, it inspired me to defrost some Gar and have a go. I now have a large jar of Rollmop Garfish in the fridge using Rangers first recipe. :) Looking forward to trying them on Xmas day along with smoked Tommies, Crabs(caught tomorrow, hopefully :boat: ) and a rugger Snapper that's in the freezer. :woohoo: Bring on Xmas. :f :d/:sun:;)

  7. I have an 80 series Landcruiser' date=' 1993, just clicked over to 334,000 kms on the way to work this morning, dual fuel Petrol and LPG. Comfortable driving on road, pretty much take you anywhere you point it off road and tows well. Great for taking heaps of gear and the family camping. Keep thinking I should sell it, but don’t really want to let it go. You could pick something like this up for $7 - $9000.Somewhere on the Eyre Peninsula.[img']http://img405.imageshack.us/img405/7896/eyre2006xmasyorkes20070.jpg[/img]Good luck with your search lots to choose from. ;)

Talking of the Eyre Peninsula I've gotta go and pack :woohoo: see you all in a week :fishing::sun: :f :d/:d/:d/

  9. Hey ShaneomackI picked up a Berkley IM7 Dropshot Tournament Pro Gen II, one piece 6.6’ 8-10kg Jerk-n-Jig for $100 at Ray and Annes last night. That’s way under your budget for what I believe is a quality SP Snapper rod. Lots of beer tokens left over. ;) I matched it up with a Shimano Aernos 4000FA, spooled with 15lb Tufline XP Red. To say I’m excited about using this combo on an upcoming Snapper charter is a massive understatement. :woohoo: Cheers.

  10. Nice topic Jack. The Strike and Hook site has directly led me to catching fish. Site member Shauno organised a charter last year which led to several site members catching big Snapper. Now some may say ‘easy to catch fish on a charter’ and that may or may not be the case but that day 3 amazing things happened.1. Watching my son catch some big Snapper :woohoo:  2. Catching a 10kg+ Snapper :woohoo: :woohoo: :clap: 3. And this was the most rewarding, catching a Snapper on my new combo which was bought on direct advice from the tackle night and was my first Snapper on a soft plastic. :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :clap::clap: Happy day.
