  4. One at the back of my boat a couple of years ago.
  5. Don't worry about it Weedie!! Just laugh it off mate!! I am the same, if it aint cheap second hand, ya might as well buy a new one!! At least ya had the guts to ask and ya never know, ya might of got a bargain, deal, steal or what ever anyone else might of thought mate!! It's easy for people to judge so dont take it to heart mate!!
  6. Fairly laughable really!! The government reall y can't help getting their gruuby little hands into anything and everything!! This is along the same line as here, how now you have to apply to play any sporting activity on the beach!! Any everyday Aussie recreation taht can be taxed IS!! To all the do-goods in the world, GIVE IT A REST!! Everywhere we turn there is some one bleeting that things aren't how they use to be, things have to change they say!! Well thats the point, things change, not always the way we want. Sure fish stocks aren't as good as they were 10-20 years ago but in the last 5
  7. Yep!! I went out on the Saturday night. Was very slow going, really didnt see many until 10:30pm ish and even then they were few and far between. One other bloke who we met up with, went Friday and by the end of Sat,said Fri was the better of the nights. The Pros had been out the nights prior too but really dont know other than what I was told. It was nothing like it was a few years back when we went last and absolutely cleaned up. Thunda_Chucka and myself scored a grand total of 20 worms, so July it is lol. :woohoo:
  8. Yep!! Have to say the trip to Arno Bay and a trip out with Ash is great value!! Top bloke and works hard to get you onto some fish. Give him a ring and ask when the reds have been firing up and get a spot on his boat. He also will get onto some KGW if they are around but it all depends when the fish(reds) want to play.
  9. Some big tidal movements get all the dead wood floating about at times in my opinion. Seems to be around the same time of year, wether limbs fall of the mangroves during summer??? I don't know but agree there are some beauties sometimes lol. One late start on the way out I come across a railway sleepr just under the surface, didn't hit it but could see it bobbing in the water just enough to avoid it. Would of made a nice dent in the boat or worse or ripp the skeg off!!
  10. I have a 2-5kg 6ft3inch spin rod. Is a very good rod, thats for sure. Found that is better to fish braid on it than mono, but that is only for feel on bites. As Ranger said, plenty of strength and gutsy rods in my opinon.
  11. This has come a few times before Snake and I fell the pain also!! On the jetty once down at Semaphore there was a group fishing and they too had undersize fish in their bucket!! Now I didn't have my phone on me and my wife did, but she doesn't have the fisheries number anyway. On the way back to my car by sheer luck a copper was parked next to mine filling out paper work. Tapped on the window and told him what was going on.He told me he would go down there and have a look. On the way through the Port we went to the fisheries and there was a car but alas it's not open on weekends!! This puzzled
  12. Managed to score this one from a tackle store that had done a refit.Does the job and the wife even lets me keep it in the front lounge. Cheers Greeny03 http://www.fishyorkepeninsula.com/images/attachments/jOQJO2Oa__ROD_HOLDER_00001_Small.JPG[/img]
  13. Well I'll be the First Aid officer!! The girls all look as though they need a thorough physical just to see if they are up to the job requirements!! lol Cheers Greeny03
  14. Nice write up Ranger! Didn't realise about it's origins! Welcome to the club, I reckon it is a good investment also. Anyone who loves Webbers will like the Cobb. You can also use wood chips soaked in water to give the smoky flavour, cause as Ranger said it does not smoke due to the moat. Cheers Greeny03
  15. I agree whole heartedly with all comments! But for me buying a boat is something I sometimes think I should of done years ago, although I would of been younger and may not of got the same enjoyment out of owning a boat as I do now. The money spent on other hobbies would of payed for a boat many times over in all reality. As already said, which size boat to buy but my boat is not huge but very easy to handle by myself and room enough for 3 comfortably. I would love to own a bigger boat, Being a Kevlacat, but budget restricts this dream and then it comes down to amount of use , storage, handling
