  3. Got my Prawn patterns happenin but still havin trouble casting the fly rod though...! Had 2 flies in my leg in as many weeks and at the speed they come at you they go straight in let me tell ya... How do you think they'll go on the YFW...??? Ever tried/caught any..??
  4. Beauty of a fish that Tony...!!So that fish doesn't count....??? says at the top of ya post SAFWAA dam...??Still gonna take some beating but there is more competition than ever mate..
  5. Mate I'm sorry but I only tie for myself now' date=' I find it too demanding achieving deadlines and delivery times and I just tie for the fun of it now. Glad you like it though and if I ever see you around I'll give you one to try.Cheers Darren[/quote']Totally understand that Darren.. But I will take you up on that offer next time I see you... Keep us posted on how ya go mate real keen to see how they fare.....!!!!
  6. Whoaaaah what a 44 gallon tub of worms...! (as you would've expexted I guess..)What I would like to know Ozzy is what license your talkin about and how do I get 1...??? if there is some sort of "lifetime open ended license" available now to thwart future screwing by the government I want onboard now...Sorry if I missed some "obvious point" but this has gotten way outta touch with the original topic IMO and I wnat factual things we can do something about...!!!!
  7. WHOAAAAHHHHH... Look at the size of that...... FLY...!!! I wish I had the skills for that... What'd be the chances of you tying me one of those and me compensating you in some way...??? Please PM me fishnuts with the handover LOL....
  8. Just PM me if your interested.. The first lot of lures are completely spoken for now (geez its just gone nuts....!!!) BUT when new stocks come in I'll order whatever is needed...
  9. The ones I've found (RAYZA's) were $13 each and they're the cheapest I could find...! I like a range of blades but as TonyB states the big eye are outstanding..! strike pro cybers a close second... BUT if these RAYZA's are as good as TB says (and lets face it whos gonna doubt him:lol: ) I am excited that shipment number 1 is only a day or 2 away...
  10. Yep totally agree Ranger, I deal with government and councils everyday and theres no way in hell that the funds would go into benefitting fishing in general.. I hate my viewpoint sometimes because I agree with some other posts that it would be bearable to see revenue raised from this go to helping the actual industry but I can tell you right now that I won't be going out of my way to pay for no licence unless I have to...! And yeah good luck trying to police that lol they can't even stop the illegal net fishing, cockle taking, crayfish and abalone poaching etc, etc, etc, who are they kidding.
  11. I WANT 1 ... !!! Where do I get these...???
  12. thanx guys will do all those things actually ...
  13. Thanx Featherweight... It is a 7 foot long rod... I know it is 1 of those things with rods and who is using them but I really don't wanna fork out for the wrong (and quite expensive) line etc...
  14. Hi All.. I'm after some advice on what line, leader, tippet, etc to use on my fly rog setup...!!!??? Its an old W.Carter & sons "cast master deluxe" from the UK.. There's no other writing on it, no weight etc.. It is a 2 piece 6 segment hand made cane rod with a fairly light action but I've got no idea what weight line to put on it so some advice would be really appreciated.. I would be mainly using it for fresh (trout etc) but maybe the odd bream might be on the cards...
  15. Only online hoops (that i know of at this stage, only just found em myself...!) not sure if i can say what website so PM me M8...
  16. You won't regret buying a SYMETRE they are awesome...! I've got 1 and it's faultless.... also can't go wrong with sedona's, saros' either...I am yet to service any of my "S" reels and not from slackness just don't need to... My daiwa caprice and capricorn I pull apart EVERY bloody time I use them (which is not very often now though mind you ) still think they have thier merrits just not for ease of maintenance....! :S

  18. I'm sure the cheaper ones actually work but as with anything "you get what you pay for..!" a diamond steel i would say is too expensive for general guys like us and I am gonna buy a cheap one for my fishing bag... But i looked @ heaps when i bought mine and you can tell the difference between them.... each to they're own i reckon if you like sharp knives then go hard...
  19. Hi all.. Most steels are no good once they are "dull" in saying that if its just dirty clean it in warm water.. try to avoid steel wool as it reacts with most metals and corrodes.. buy a good one (about $80-$150) and it'll be good for years.. make sure it is "inox" stainless (they seem to be best) B)PS: the one in the top picture is finished i would say...
  20. I agree with all these posts EXCEPT.. the ethnicity of people IS IRRELEVANT..! Sure some people don't speak english or are ignorant or just plain STUPID..! have a quiet word to them MOST of the time they will comply if ya say "hey mate you got an illegal amount of lines here can ya please remove a couple so i can have a fish..??" if they are un-obliging DON'T let it ruin YOUR day and just get ya cheapest line and a 2oz sinker and throw it over the top of all thier lines and have a chuckle.... what are they gonna do call fishwatch..?? I always have a chat with people for what ever reason and t
