  2. Hi all, well after seeing TonyB's cry for help with the Tassie Devils Lures i thought I'd show off my collection, i have not really used them here so can't comment on how they will go, I'm sure Tony will soon be telling us all :icon_e_wink:i bought mine when i visited Tassie a few years back, we trolled with them everyday and everyday they caught fish. ChuckJr with our Brace of Trout from a 3 day trip to Lake Arthur'sThe locals showed us how to fish them the best and that is to take the wire and treble out of the lure and chuck them on the pile with the others ;D as can be seen to the right

  6. yes mate the guys were catching under size snapper and the GW took them and went for the screaming runs, i don't think it would have really been hooked as they were only 6/0 snapper hooks, was a great experience though thats for surecheers and thanks to all for the good comments, Chuck
  7. Hi all, well last week i was invited out by a friend who had a slot left on his charter, to catch up with him and the decky and hopefully catch an Xmas Snapperunfortunately after the first snapper was boated a Great White showed up and we didn't see another snapper all daythis was my first encounter with a GW and was an awesome sight to see, unfortunately the shark didn't break the surface once and at this point in time i do not own a polarising filter for my camera, so the glare ruined the shots of the shark as it circled the boat ( i have a new filter on its way for Xmas )we did end up cat
  8. what i do is take the huge fillet and fillet it down to whiting size filletfirst i cut the chunky fillet into the right lengths then fillet them down till i have whiting thick filletthen its into the flour, dipped into the egg/milk mix then into the garlic flavoured bread crumbs, coat welli then put them into the fridge to "Firm Up" a bit ready to use laterheat the oil and then drop the fillets in, a minute or so in the deep fryer, drain then serve "YUM!"cheers chuck

  15. thanks all for the great commentsLazy you thread the hook through the legs side and out the backon BM a guy questioned it's size as you can't see both ends in the vid so heres a photo of the fish against the ruler, you will notice that the fish was that fat i had to bend it's tail in to reach the ruler ;DCatchnun, yes vimeo is a great host, much better quality in the compression, it doesn't load right on SnH at the moment but if you check BM out your see how they are meant to show, Aarron needs to click a button that allows such attachments ;)again thanks for the good commentscheers chuck ht
  16. Big 2Kg Black Bream…..The MovieWell as many of you already know Snapps and myself have been catching the Big Bream for a few years now and I have always wanted to get one on film. Well on a resent trip north to one of our Big Bream spots, we were lucky enough to hit a “Corker” of a day and caught many over 40cm Bream. We were also lucky that my lovely lady Corinne came too and when we were into a hot bite she took some footage for us, she caught me catching this beauty which turned out to be a 49.5cm 2.082Kg Big Male Black BreamThe gear used was my Bl

  19. I think you will find they are made for the Japanese market only, which is a huge market and the distributors here in Australia bring them in as they know theres also a market here for them. Hence they were never made for other counties thats why they only have all the writing in Japaneseif you look at the reels made for export, there instruction are in many languagesanother thing to remember is these "Top O The Line" reels are factory sealed and shouldn't need taking apart, I've owned a few now for over 4 years and never had the need to undo anything, just wash under fresh water and spray wit
  20. Daiwa since i was a very very young lad and i still have some of those first reels ;Dcheers chuck http://www.fishyorkepeninsula.com/images/attachments/I1dk99VT__Daiwa_7700R.jpg[/img]

  23. Sunday morning and we hit the water at “Gentleman’s Hours” 7.30am. We see in the car park there are a few other boats out too. First spot and that bloody southerly was blowing hard. It was near impossible to hold the boat and fish, so we headed for some sheltered water. On the way we pass some likely looking spots, so give them a go but that relentless wind soon had us looking for a sheltered bay. First one we hit and the Cubby’s are armed. Today I’m using my BD Clear Cut 2-4kg and within a couple of casts I start
  24. It then went quite again, so some lunch was on the cards. I threw the float line over with a pilly on a single hook and sat back to eat. Out the corner of my eye I saw a bite, so pulled the bait in and it was half gone. New bait I cast again and as I turned to sit down snapps yells “Your On” as it’s hammered straight away. After a small run it drops the bait, Dohhh…….Snapps grabs his trusty Flats, casts to the spot, Jerk Jerk “WHAM” as he too gets hammered, this time he came home for dinnerAf
