  2. Couldn't belive they gave me a little plug as well . Not sure about them saying Shane like Mully fishing more than myself ????? Maybe the same but not more ?????? lol . I had a good laugh the whole way through . Was a bit disappointing that Damien didn't a mention with his Gummy shark .
  3. Yeah i hooked up to a Cormrant in mid flight one time . Cast my lure and as i watch my lure go up in the air then down with the line making a nice loop , the bird flew straight under the loop and hooked the line with it's wing . Watched the lure pop out the water and track straight to the bird . Line starts peeling of a a high rate on knots . I just grabbed the spool and snapped the line . Best fish however was a 80cm Mulloway on 4lb line . Hooked up and it just went nuts . Was in the Mully Magnet and had to chase it around for 15min and 400meters up the river i managed to net it . best fight
  4. Well , what can i say . We will start with , what an awesome time an i was very privileged to be invited along . As far as i know there was a fair few entries asking the boys Andrew and Nick from Hook Line and Sinker to come fishing with them and out of all those entries they answer Mully Madness , Shane "mulloway" Evans to go down Goolwa beach to have a crack at some beach Mully's . I was just lucky to have Shane ask me to come along and help out . The weather was not in our favour and despite this Andrew managed his first Mulloway . Wasn't the biggest going a rough 30cm but still a Mully . D
  5. Depends on where you plan to fish but for most areas 15lb is fine . If you are near or fishing in some decent current then the fish can use this current to it's advantage and then you will also need to up your main line as well as leader . For example if i was fishing the Onk then i would use 4-9lb line with a 12-20lb leader , For the Coorong i was using 12lb main with a 20lb leader but if i was closer to the mouth i would of gone 20lb main with a 30-40lb leader . In the port the current can be huge and i have been using 40lb line and leader but this was with bait . These are not rules but hop
  6. Get a few colours and try different combinations . The fish will like one colour then change there mind so be prepared to mix it up till you find out what there preference is at the time you are fishing ?
  7. Went down the local haunt in the Mully Magnet . Caught enough bait for a good sesh . Had to wait a bit for the tide to do it's thing . Had three runs , hooked up to the first but when i got the fish close to the MM the hooks pulled and the sinker jumped out the water an landed next to me . Second run was a decent fish but when i went to set the hooks the bait came back whole . Third run i had a decent hook up and landed a nice schoolie 49cm , tagged then released it back . Was happy with one and it was getting late so packed up and went home .
  8. Cheers UHF , Live Fibre and Rotare , you are correct it is a cruise craft 685 . Really nice rig and he gets out in it a fair bit ? I had so much footage that i could only put up the 3 fish caught out of the 7 in the video . Was an awesome day an was going to head out tomoz again but the wind is going to pick up . But i have got something up my sleeve and hoping for some even better footage next time i head out just hope it's soon ?
  9. Still got my first t shirt . Cant remember where or when i got it but i am wearing it in my last vid .

  13. Yep love the go pro's . Got the 1 2 and got the 3 on order just waiting for delivery . Great camera and love the applications you can use them for . Do have a bit of trouble with the amount of info on my computer slowing things down and memory cards can get chewed up pretty quick if you have small cards . Getting extra batteries with mine and there are heaps of accessories just look up the go pro site . Can't wait to try out the wi fi with the black on my phone . there is an app that will make you smart phone the view finder ? Couple of differences with silver and black is low light conditions
  14. Just take your tommies out of the freezer first , makes them easier to cast and the big fish can find them Seriously tho a lot of fellas will spend a huge amount of time chasing big fish for not much results . Dont be surprised if it takes you a lot of time also . Most places will produce big fish but it comes back to the TIME thing . They patrol a larger area being a bigger fish so you might get lucky and throw your bait in front of there face as they are coming past or you could throw it just after they have gone past and you have to wait a while for them to make there rounds ? Some big f

  16. Well done fella . Is there anyway to transport them to a deeper pool or is this illegal or to difficult ? Would be a shame to lose them ?
  17. Yeah the only thing i would add is that i use 4lb line but with a decent length 12lb leader for when they bury themselves in the reeds . If you keep pressure on them and a bit of patients , you can usually get them out . Also i don't use any sinkers .Good luck .
  18. Jack wrote :That footage at the end is killa, mainly because your winding the reel with yer right hand never seen you do that before!!Thats because i handed the rod back and they switched the handle back so the rod was left handed ? Yes Ale he does fish a fair bit and he is my old boss who gave us the heads up to the charter . He has a decent boat himself but he wanted to relax that day a not have to drive the boat but actually fish an thats why we went with the charter . Yeah the gaff was an old home made bambo model with a bit of sentimental value . Definitely seen better days ? I was using
  19. Ok , so on Wed smoko i got a call from my old boss asking "you doing much tomoz ? Thinking of going on a fishing charter , would you like to come ?" . My instant reply "is a ducks a@#$ water tight" . It was predicted to be 41 deg anyway so i wasn't to keen to work doing some roofing , not that i needed an excuse like this to take the day of . Got a call a bit later saying it was on and to be ready by 4:15am . Mark was at my door on time and we headed of on an adventure . We were down at Cape Jervois to meet the charter on time and head out before the birds were chirping and wouldn't you know

  21. Up the top Banga . You didn't seem that keen the last couple of times ? Will take you out this week some time if ya keen . I hope to get out a couple of times this week ? See what the tides are like ?
  22. It probably weighed about 2-3kg so not much really Jagger . Send us a pm and i will take you out soon fella . Just trying to get some one onto there first Mully and while it has been very close there still has been no cigar ? Cheers also fella .
  23. Put the live bait tank together using an esky , a bilge pump and some garden pipe bits . Since trying it out i have removed the other hose pipe inside the esky as when it turns of this pipe then siphons the water back out . I had to raise the esky higher than the edge of the canoe so the water drains out of the tank under gravity ? The only thing i have to keep an eye on is the fish getting sucked on to the outlet but have got an idea on this . And then finally the final product ? If any one needs anything like this or any other mods done to their kayak or canoe or even boat
  24. G'day people , have been working hard on the new canoe , A.K.A Mully Magnet II . I started By making a frame up from angle aluminium , this is to house the battery and the live bait tank . Next i covered it in propeller plate to give it a nice shiny new look , and then attached the fuse/switch box . Then it was a matter of figuring out what i needed to run and were to run the wires . Attach the switches and fuses and then put it all together .
