Being second hand AFF i would highly recommend a full service on it,that will narrow down what the problem might be.Thats the only advice i can offer even though i have never owned one of these. :woohoo:

I use a 12 foot ugly stick or for heavier situations i have a custom made 5120 classic rod which is 12 foot as well and the good old penn 750 ss reel that is now over 25 yrs old with mono line and has never failed me in any way.Look after you gear and your gear will look after you. :woohoo: -
